florian homm + moritz hessel: principles of wealth

florian homm + moritz hessel: prinzipien des wohlstands, published in april 2022 is the newest book by florian homm, the famous german ex-hedge fund manager & ex-billionaire & ex-prisoner & ex-peter lynch student/colleague & ex-harvard business school graduate & ex-basketball player & so on 😇

i liked already florian homm's book endspiel, published in 2016. of course, i also watch his youtube videos on the current financial and social issues from time to time ... well, i got already used to his swanky (großkotzig) style, so i can concentrate on the content now 😃. i think he is somehow honest and willing not only to sell his charged newsletters + trading courses + books + financial advice, but also willing to pass some valuable information to his listeners / subscribers, doesn't he?

as florian homm will most likely never ever be allowed to lead a investment fund (just read his bio on wikipedia), i've decided to invest some money in the managed account @ CapTrader brokers led by moritz hessel. good luck with my money 💵, dear mortiz + florian🍀

how are they doing so far? well, after 4-6 weeks as the markets are plummeting is my total amount down by some 3 - 4 %. hell, i was in the hurry to set-up the account for these short-seller-professionals, as i've seen the markets are heading down ... but nope ... their portfolio of maybe 50 - 100 mostly american stock positions is down, even if probably 1/3 of the positions are short and 2/3 long .... they are long google, amazon, bayer, gold + resources companies ... and on the short side you will find apple, (my employer) BMW, ... of course, i can't say now how often and how fast do they switch their positions ... i will see and i plan to post here a performance update in 1 year. the corresponding notification in my google calendar is already set for the 10.10.2024, you know? 😄

few topics in this nice + easy to read investment book:

  • (their) investment philosophy
  • (their) investment style
  • total return concept
  • market crash + short selling
  • behavior of asset classes / investment categories in different cycles (inflation / deflation / stagflation)
  • many, many investment strategies
  • chances - risks - ratio
  • evaluation of investments, fundamental analysis, economic research, evaluation methods
  • stock price indicators & KPIs
  • portfolio management
  • success and fulfillment
  • do what you do really good and with pleasure
  • positive psychology (wiki) + PERMA by prof. martin seligman

any final conclusion? interesting stuff served in a easy to read and quite easy to digest way. a lot to learn & undestand, many different trading & investing set-ups ... it seems to be possible to implement few of them which would fit to my investment style even if it requires hard work as there is a lot of research / market and company analysis needed ... sounds like i would come back to this book and to investing approach when i will work less in my regular job and concentrate more on investments 😊

my 1st florian homm book was florian homm - endspiel, published in 2016.
he looked much, much younger in 2016, didn't he? 😇
