bayerischer wald, BY

bavaria is beautiful, you know?

what have we seen in this early april time? the forest + massif bayrischer wald, BY, böhmerwald, großer arber 1455m (aka big maple tree aka großer ahorn aka velky javor which is its czech name) = the highest mountain of the bayerischer wald massiv, the still frozen glacier lake arbersee bellow it, the village of kollnburg (there is a castle hotel with a nice restaurant we have been in twice), village or just a manor or farm called mehlbach, where we stayed for a week with our grandsons, today's hipster + big city cowboys + yoga mood glamping aka camping schnitzmühle, schwarzer regen river, castle ruin altnussberg (burgruine altnussberg), ...

sumava, böhmerwald, CZ

sumava / böhmerwald aka bohemian and/or bavarian forest visited from the czech side of the hills (CZ). we have hiked to the two in my opinion small glacier lakes cerne jezero (black lake), which is the biggest natural lake in czech republic and certovo jezero (devils lake). we've stayed in the more or less closed ski resort hotel karl with 8-10 other guests and restaurant closed in the village of spicak (spitzberg) bei zelezna ruda (eisenstein) in the german-czech border area.
