our stops in italy were:
- kloster neustift (abbazia di novacella) ~ our yearly 3 days seminar for south tirol's teachers' organization ASM ~ we love to do s.th. new each time, so this time we swum in the ice cold eisack river (isarco) and spent 1 night in the nearby hotel brückenwirt, which we knew only as restaurant & beergarden guests before ~ yes, we love südtirol (south tirol) 💝
- hiking tour from the fane alm (fanealm) to the labeseben alm (2138m) and further to the lake wilder see (2538m) in the german speaking part of the italian alps. folks, i've seen a real capricorn up there! the stars formation? no, the alpine ibex (steinbock) 🐐. my dears, there was no wikipedia page for this beautiful and also deepest mountain lake in south tirol, thus i've created a new one here: wiki wilder see (südtirol). it took me maybe 30-50 minutes, so i'm curious if the page will survive or if wikipedia deletes it due to low quality, violation of some editing rules or the like 😇. folks, wiki works fine! after only 2 days there were 4 wiki users who enhanced + improved my article, so i was so happy that i've created a new wiki page for the lake radlsee, too. who wants to read my corresponding wiki-radlsee-page as well?
- bozen (bolzano) ~ my wife + me were witnesses to a marriage. did you know that for a german couple it is easier and especially faster to arrange a marriage in south tirol than in munich? and that it is automatically & legally valid as a marriage for german authorities?
- dosoledo belluno ~ a small village in the italian speaking part of the italian alps
- sistiana ~ we were walking the rilke trail at the cliff coast segment of the northern italian adria
- castello di duino ~ duino castle ~ novi devinski grad => strange, the slovenian name for this castle 'devinski grad' is identical to castle devin in slovakia close to bratislava. just in case you didnt know, in that part of italy lives many slovenes, so the banners, road signs & other information is written in both languages, italian and slovenian
- miramare castle (schloss miramar) in grignano miramare close to triest (trieste) ~ built between 1856 and 1860 for the chief commander of the austrian navy and botanist🌹, ferdinand maximilian habsburg, the brother of the austrian emperor, franz josef I and for his wife, the belgian princess leopoldine. maximilian later became the emperor of mexico, too

5+6) sistiana + nuovo duino castlello (novi devinski grad, duino castle)
the small noble port portopiccolo in sistiana, italian adria
our small but somehow nice bed & breakfast room for 2 nights we've foundin sistiana via google maps (villa camilla) + we've found a nudist beach, too
sistiana, coast + port + parking + beach ... not a nice place for swimming
sistiana, at least our walking at the rilke trail at the cliff coast was nice.
castello di duino ~ duino castle ~ novi devinski grad
