funerals are sad. especially funerals of young people ... 46 .... without any previous signals for some illness ... soooo heartbreaking saaaad .... anyway, it was important to say good-bye, dear friend 🙏 and in some way even nice to meet all our polish family at this mourning ceremony ... and it was also really valuable to spend some time with our closest family in ruda bugaj in the outskirts of lodz & alexandrow lodzki in central poland.
we had to come to lodz in 1 day and we did. it is 950 km one way from munich, thus not easy at all. despite heavy rain and bad sight during the journey we were lucky to arrive after 11 hours short after 9 pm in lodz. that is perfect as we could extensively talk to my mother-in-law the very 1st day. at least at the way back we could sleep 1 night somewhere in the middle of our way. it was a nice castle hotel from 1581 called palac lagow aka lagow castle aka schloss leopoldshain just 5 km away from the polish-german-border at zgorzelec aka görlitz ....

the chapel of the scheibler family in the evangelic part of the central
city cemetery (2017). there are catholic + ortodox sections, too.
just the jewish cemetery (2018) is outside the old city's center.
the most old graves in the evangelic section of the cemetery are german

walking in the nature ...
flowers are the smile of the world, arent they? ...
and maybe they even reduce the pain on funerals a little bit
