btw, which of these four 'lakes' (see) is not a lake? ... got it? well, ebensee is just a name of the village at in southernmost part of lake traunsee that means here is everything flat ('eben') 😆

btw, the lake traunsee build by the traun river is the deepest lake (completely located) in austria with 191m.

braunau am inn, austria, AT

after the highway from the german side was drawn from munich almost to the austrian border at the inn river at braunau few years ago, i usually use this shortest way to pressburg, slovakia even if there is a huge part from the austrian side without a highway. and yes, especially the border control at braunau is faster than the border control when coming back from SK + AT to DE via salzburg

yesterday i just wanted to look up few old pictures abt braunau, but i couldnt find that pictures i was thinking of ... well, i've had to go back in time and found a trace about our short trip for dinner in braunau at our way back from all hollows in slovakia in november 2022.  .,,,  so i've uploaded the braunau pictures from june 2020 and november 2022 today😄

enjoy few views of (hitler's birth city) braunau am inn in austria (AT) below. well, i remember a yellow picture from his birth house with a huge stone from the concentration camp mauthausen in front of it my parents made some 30 years ago. i'm not going to search for it in my albums with paper photographs before the digital era begun ... as far as i know his birth house was later destroyed and the rock removed in order not to support any kind of nazi tourism. if interested, you'll find such pictures on the internet if you asked me ...

zillertalarena, ski, AT

what a wonderful ski experience in the tirolian alps (tuxer alpen) in austria. even if it is just middle of march and i've been quite high, THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SNOW (and not enough water) IN THE MOUNTAINS ⛄🌋🌞 ... did we destroyed all climate yet?

the zillertalarena is a ski resort approx in the middle of the zillertal, which means ziller river's valley. my starting point was the village zell am ziller (575m). i was quite early, maybe 9:30 a.m., because it was just a 2:15 hours drive from munich today. the parking place was half empty and there was NO SNOW in the valley. there was also almost no snow all the way up to the middle stattion of the cable car (wiesenalm 1,309m). from here up to the highest ski run hill übergangsjoch 2,500m with its kapauns lift 2,502m came all the snow cannons to their best. in the areas between 1,700m and 2,500m was the skiing fine, ifyou asked me. btw, the other hills around are the karspitz 2,257m, isskogel 2,264m, kreuzjoch 2,558m, königsleitenspitze 2,315m.

the ski areal provides statistics of the day and it was also possible to record a short ski run which i could watch and download later using my ticket number at www.skiline.cc => well, i've had 19 lift rounds + 8,569 height meters + 46.5 km up & down today. as you have to register first, you would also get the stats of all season in associated locations (maybe even in whole austria?). what abt my video? it looks so slow and it was slow because in the late afternoon at PLUS 15 degrees celsius was the snow soft, mushy and heavy. anyway, here we go 😉🎿⛇

next time i'll probably visit the mayrhofen ski arena with its harakiri ski run, which is the steepest piste austrias or maybe the last station in the ziller valley, the glacier ski area in hintertux 3,200m?

as i browse my blog backwards, i see my last skiing in tirol was the wonderful sellaronda round in south tirol, italy in early february. my last skiing in zillertal was the 1st ski areal in the valley (coming from munich), hochzillertal in 2014 (go to link only if you are NOT AFRAID of spiders🐜)
