mama, next chapter + swimming in the danube river, SK

i could visit my mother and my youngest brother's family in bratislava (SK) in september as the corona-measures were fine at that time ... the stupid masks were mandatory 'only' in shops and public transport  ... today (november), they have a mandatory corona tests in slovakia or you cannot leave your flat for few weeks except the nearest grocery store ... 

will they do the same procedure with the corona vaccination as well? who knows?

even if i was there only for a weekend, we have spent a really nice time all together. the highlight for me was the visit in bratislava's waterworks areal (children playgrounds, museum, community gardening) at the danube river AND the swimming in one tributary stream of the danube river 😃.

to be honest, i haven't seen any of these animals today

 

what about swimming in this tributary stream of the danube river?

 

even if the water was quite shallow, the stream was really strong.

you couldn't swim against the stream ... it is in real life difficult as well, isn't it?

i would not recommend this lake for swimming, my dears. why not?

it is much, much, much too shallow. 

even 50m away from lakeside is it not deep enough ...

 

i have a father, too ... thanks goodness, he is still healthy enough 😉

dear mother

well, it is not always easy to become older, is it? especially if  you need some assistance in daily life affairs. thanks to my youngest brother and his wife our ailing mother is still quite fine, still among family and still healthy enough to walk through the day, remember all of us children ... and smile from time to time :o)

and it is so easy to make you a pleasure today, dear mother. a short walk, a cup of coffee and a cake and you are happy. it used to be more difficult before :-). happiness is state of mind, isn't it? the whole your life could be easier and more cheerful if you would allow more joy and easiness to yourself and to us, i guess, dear mother.

i was so happy to spend few days in early may with you in bratislava. we walked a lot at the river danube banks (dunaj, donau), explored the whole mountain park (horsky park), spent a lot of time the in the museum of carpathian germans in the old zuckermandl district. it was interesting for me to learn, that not only our native zips (spis) region in the eastern slovakian mountains was settled by germans many hundred years ago. also in today's slovak capital bratislava were germans the majority even when the first czechoslovak state has arisen in 1918, ...
