we've spent a part of this summer in the czech republic (CZ). you would say, we only drove through on the way to poland. that's true. but we have seen a lot as we have had 2 beautiful nights in the liblice castle in northern CZ in the 1st direction. on the way back, we've spent a night in olomouc (olmütz) in moravia, where i've visited a buddy of mine. finally, our nicest stay was the hotel in the zhiroh castle, where three (!!!) emperors lived over the centuries, in the western czech republic close to plzen (pilsen).
our stops in CZ were:
- liblice castle
- houska castle (built to cover the entry / hole to the hell 👹, as the legend says)
- kokorin castle
- NP bohemian paradise (Český ráj, böhmisches paradies)
- city of melnik, where SHE, the vltava river (moldau), meets HIM, the labe river (elbe), just to walk the rest of their lives together😍. wanna see not only vltava's end but also its beginning? just jump here and see the tepla vltava river (warme moldau) aka warm vltava in böhmerwald in south CZ. you know what? i'm going to tell you s.th. about injustice now. SHE, the moldau river, is not only longer, but she also carries more water then HE, the labe river. why the hell is the combined river called labe, after all? the same injustice happend to spree river when entering the havel river in berlin and a similar injustice to the inn river when entering the danube river in passau, as the inn carries more water than the danube on average and the combined river gets the foggy color of inn at least for the next 1 km or more ... so strange, so sad, so unfair, if you asked me 😇
- artificial lake aka water reservoir 'rozkos' in ceska skalice close to the CZ-PL border
- city of olomouc (olmütz)
- camping and lake pavovsky rybnik (= fish pond in pavov), close to jihlava + lunch at the lake (also a fish pond) dolni cihelna in jihlava
- zbiroh castle, first mentioned in 1230
- fish pond cekovsky rybnik
- private lake / fish pond vaclavsky rybnik close to primda (pfraumberg)
