MSC = wehrkundetagung aka munich "security" conference ....
the title says it all, doesnt it? 😇 ... even much better than the official motto of the conference, "frieden durch dialog" (= peace through dialogue), if you asked me. why? this motto is a sheer charade (farce) as e.g. russia and iran were not invited to join ...
why not a world peace conference? and/or world peace alliance instead?🌈
=> lets save the planet. imho the number #1 issue is PEACE. do you agree? on top, it is obvious, that a world without wars, bombings, fight jets, tanks and the like would help to save our climate too, wouldnt it? 😜
approx. 5,000 - 8,000 people at stachus + marienplatz and about 500 - 1,000 at königsplatz (both numbers are my own guess) protest against the so called munich "security" conference (MSC). young, old, groups or single, communists, trade unions, left political parties, .... it was already the 60th convention in munich. in the beginning it was called what it always has been and what it still is = wehrkundetagung. this means military science conference. the list of attendees at this private conference partly financed by our tax money consists of representatives of western block governments, "defence" ministers, military advisers + the military and industrial complex. the programm? next weapon deals, military alliances and wars ... everything just to ensure + to strengthen the power of the collective west ... so sad 😭

if you want to inhale war propaganda, just go to the official MSC 2024 website and mention the typo they've made by copying their 'program' from year to year 👻
this year's themes in the protest movement against MSC (sicherheitskonferenz, SiKo) were especially israels war on gaza, palestine and the proxy war NATO against russia in ukraine ... less prominent were rojava, yemen, freedom of speech and freedom for julian assange, destruction of nature & environment through wars, exuberant military budgets which could be better used to fight poverty & social injustice in our own countries ...
few demanded the u.s. military and their nuclear weapons to leave germany, others demanded germany to leave the north atlantic terror organization aka NATO ...
there was also a pro-ukraine demo at odeonsplatz with about 100-200 ukrainian natives (long-time residents + new refugees) and supporters, demanding more weapons & money for the ukraine and a stronger alliance against putin. i just took few pictures there, but did not leave our peace march from stachus to marienplatz which symbolically surrounded the noble hotel bayrischer hof, where the MSC takes place ...
as in the last year, there were two different peace movements. the 1st one at stachus and the 2nd at königsplatz. i've marched with the stachus folks this year. as almost always, i also met few old buddies as munich's peace movement is not really big or any significant ...

ps: i was asked, why there is 'no word about russia' in this blog post. well, russia was not invited to this western sfera military conference ... and yes, imho russia's attack on ukraine in order to rescue the huge russian minority of about 8 million people (acording to wikipedia) in the eastern ukraine would correspond to an attack by arabic nations on israel in order to help their ethnic brothers + brothers in faith in gaza, wouldnt it?

pps: there were huge farmer protests (bauernproteste) against the governments in january + february. in munich we haven't had that many farmers + supporters in the streets like in berlin, amsterdam, paris, ...
