what a nice weekend in the bavarian alps in marzoll close to bad reichenhall. well, for my wife it was a very challenging full time job at her HBHS seminar. for me it was pleasure++ while hiking to the nearby peaks toter mann + kneifelspitze, swimming in the ice-cold lake königssee, enjoying the nice hotel sanatorium schlossberghof and learning about feeling fear while watched the marzoller kramperl (krampusse) giving their best :-)

in marzoll comes the santa claus never allone. krampus is also at start and yes, they beat the legs of the viewing public with ropes really strong

well, after bad reichenhall and königssee, we have finally made it up to the jenner peak ~  1874m. ok, we went up by cable car and hiked then upwards around :-)

what a nice weekend with the best of all wives in the bavarian hills 😄

our stops:

• bad reichenhall ~ in january we have seen the predigtstuhl mountain, wolpertinger and the old city centre. this time was the spa and hotel area on our agenda.
• königssee ~ visiting the refugee i was 26 years ago
• jenner peak ~ 1874m

wolpertinger (wild bavarian animals seen at mountain predigtstuhl above bad reichenhall)

take care, wolpertingers out there at mountain predigtstuhl (1613 m) above bad reichenhall. wolper what? wolpertinger is a rare bavarian animal, you know? just look it up in wikipedia (there are more pictures in german language article, but you can switch to english as well).

well, on the 3rd day of our wolfgangsee / austria trip on the way back we have visited the predigtstuhl mountain by world's oldest cable car still active in original state (predigtstuhlbahn from 1928) and after that walked around in bad reichenhall, the poor sister of its austrian salt mining cousin salzburg ...
