what a nice afternoon with children at the quarry pond (baggersee) waldschwaigsee between langwied and karlsfeld 😊 it is a quite quiet place with no playground for children, no beach volley area, no barbecue area ... and there is just a small kiosk with a really limited selection of food ... anyway. it is a nice place to go close to the 3 crowded langwieder lakes, too. btw, the parking place in the langwieder street is still for free and even at a hot weekend day like today not overcrowded. 

i was not completely sure what does 'schwaige' mean and thought it could be s.th. with water. well, i've asked AI and look what they answered: Der Waldschwaigsee bei Karlsfeld verdankt seinen Namen einer früher dort bestehenden Waldschwaige, also einem Gehöft mit Viehhaltung am Waldrand. 😄

our favorite walk leads to the chapel in the forest in lochham/gräfelfing

 

DO NOT EAT, especially not the core. 

the fruits (yew berries) of the yew tree (eibe) are sweet and yummy, 

the core is toxic and deadly dangerous. only few of them are enough to kill you

=> do as my youngest daughter taught me: install an app (e.g. PlantNet) which will tell you whether you could/should try the colorful fruits or better leave them for the birds 😂

lake langwieder see :o)

we have been many, many times at lake langwieder see this summer ... even if it is not our favorite lake because the higway A8 to augsburg is much to close if you asked me, but it so near to our place so we liked to come for a short swimming break and to spend some time (often with friends) in the beautiful beer garden ... enjoy few pictures :-)
