what a short visit to the oktoberfest this year. it was interesting, but not really nice this time ... probably  we did not drunk enough beer, you know? 😀 ... and we really have had a bad luck on our way home as some stupid visitors lost their helium baloon which damaged the power supply line of munich's city train (s-bahn) and we have spent hours on our way home at a really cold evenening ...

cleanup neuaubing

thanks to lisa from our neighborhood we've finally started to clean up the surroundings in front of our house doors => cleanup neuaubing. i've joined similar actions already many (few?) times. especially the ramadama cleaning at the isar river banks in the barbecue centre of munich (=flaucher), where - compared to neuaubing - is almost no trash to find .... well, basically i just collect trash on my own on the beaches + streets + forests when i'm walking around and do not wait for any organized action 😃

40 to 50 activists + 2 hours.

at the end everyone has got a scoop of ice cream 🍦

of course, there are many ways to make this planet a better place. we could invest our time / energy / money e.g. to provide better education or spare time program for children, grow healthy food, donate blood, help refugees or elderly people, improve wikipedia or some open source software (linux, mozilla firefox, open office, etc), you name it. there is (at least) one more issue which is really important for me = planting trees 🌳... i do support such actions from time to time financially and yes, approx once a year i plant few trees from my flower pots in the nearby forest at places, which really need more trees & bushes. if interested, you can visit an old blog post for my planting trees action.

what a nice stop-over in villach at our way home from istria, croatia.

we did not have much time here. well, still enough to enjoy the nudist wellness area in the hotel seestuben at the lake st. leonharder see in the evening + the next day after the breakfast before we left austria. it was also interesting to see a small austrian wedding celebration (30-40 people) in the hotel restaurant in the evening in a small open area next to our table 😀

mobile work from istria ~ croatia, HR

enjoy pictures + insights from my 2 weeks of mobile work from abroad. this time again from our '3rd home' in premantura, istria, croatia, HR. it was already my 6th stay here since we are allowed to work online from abroad since 2022. it is more often than i thought, but it is true. how can i know that for sure? easy! because my blog never lies, i just checked my online memories and have seen all my former visits out there, you know? 😄

i've had really much to do this time, so we even couldnt manage to visit our youngest daughter who also was in istria with few friends and just 1 hour away from our place... a little bit sad, isnt it? at least my wife made many, many nice walks at the kamenjak peninsula and we have visited the safari bar at cap kamenjak together twice ... and ... and much more.

after you left the camping stupice behind you, you'll find this beautiful lokva bay

and yes, we still try and most often also succeed to see / do / experience s.th. new. this time it was the visit to the brioni islands (brijuni - brijun) close to our favorite restaurant in fazana => thus there is a small story to tell: paul kuppelwieser, the austrian manager in rockefeller's steel works in vitkovice (ostrava) was the one who retired at age of 52 and in the year 1893 bouhgt the then austrian and today croatian brioni (brijun) islands in istria very cheap because of malaria on the islands at that time => german physician robert koch => no malaria => WWII => yugoslavia's president tito => ZOO with animals tito has got as gift from his visitors + his cadillac + photo gallery + arts + diverse politicians (and/or their wives like eleanor roosevelt) and female artists like sophia loren as visitors + ...

well, the big & small brioni island were interesting to see, but not any special, if you asked me. at least we have been fast back to our lovely stara konoba restaurant in fazana by ferry for dinner, maybe in 15 minutes? 😇
