ruda bugaj, central poland, PL

we have spent the 90th birthday with my mother-in-law and xmas celebration in ruda bugaj, a village near alexandrow lodzki + lodz with closest family in poland. NICE 😍

our stops in PL this time?

  • wojanow castle (schloß schildau) in lower silesia, PL
  • lodz, central poland => enjoy especially the pictures from the interactive museum of technics and science located in an old coal electric power plant very close to the recently modernized train station fabryczna (factory / fabrik) below
  • ruda bugaj / alexandrow lodzki, central poland
  • leba at the baltic sea ...coming soon ...
  • moszna castle close to opole (oppeln), upper silesia ...coming soon ...

there are still few wooden houses where people live today...

even if there is no aboveground river in lodz today, waste amounts of water
was the catalyzer for the development of its textile industry some 200 years
ago back then under russian administration. thus a boat 🚣 is still a symbol
of lodz and lodz is called polish manchester by many folks out there ...

lodz, PL

lodz, ruda bugaj, poland, PL ~ when you visit a city and a region quite often, you see complete different things than the first time, don't you? when 1st time in lodz some 30+ years ago, i just photographed the main aquare churches (at the plac wolnosci) and the main street. the so beautiful shopping & leisure center manufaktura was an industrial ruin then ... well, what did i focus on this time? architectural details of the old city buildings => thus you will get no insights but many pictures in this blog post, agreed? 😇

yes, lodz becomes nicer and nicer with the time passing by as the communal owned socialist era gray and outworn buildings become restaurated by the new owners and appeer in the previous or in a new glance.
