easter march for peace in munich 2019. enjoy some SOUND (samba rhythm), insights + pictures :-). the main topics were yemen, venezuela, new u.s. nuclear weapons in europe ['modernization of nuclear ersanal' ;o((], PESCO (permanent security cooperation), highly increasing militarization of western europe (military expenses should grow to 2% of GDP soon), NATO's aggression against russia, trump's termination of nuclear weapons treaty INF (and obama's?) ABM (anti-ballistic missiles) treaty ...

mauritius

greetings from the southern hemisphere :)
the southern hemisphere is special in many many ways, e.g. there are no nuclear weapons stationed. this is really special if you asked me. in the north we have nukes even in the historic city center of berlin or in the mini-country of liechtenstein :(. thus we feel very save here, so far away from nukes + (NATO's) armies ...

well, what to say about this tropical french speaking island in the indian ocean? first of all, it is only 40 km wide and 60 km long and it has 1.2 million people (it is above 600 per square kilometer, which is really really a lot). most of the citizens are of indian origin and creoles, if i can tell it after 2 days of being here.
what about its nature? well, the dutch have cleared almost all tropical forests because of ebony and other hard tropical wood and even mauritius' heraldic animal, the not flying bird dodo was eradicated by the sailors many, many years ago. so pity ... ok, there is a taxidermied bird and the famous stamp 'blue mauritius' in the museum of port louis, but it is not a real substitute, is it? the island is quite pretty + green anyway, because of its sugar cane plantations, lakes, nice hills (the highest mountain is the dark river peak in the southern part of mauritius with 828 meters above the sea level). i'm looking forward to learn more about the island on our planned day trips soon ...

let's go over to wikipedia in order to learn more about mauritius' history: [wikipedia on] ... The first Portuguese explorers found no indigenous people living on the island in 1507. The Dutch settled on the island in 1638 and abandoned it in 1710. Five years later, the island became a French colony and was renamed Isle de France. The British took control of Mauritius in 1810 during the Napoleonic Wars. The country remained under British rule until it became an independent Commonwealth realm on 12 March 1968 and a republic within the Commonwealth on 12 March 1992. ... The island of Mauritius was the only home of the Dodo bird. The bird became extinct fewer than eighty years after its discovery. ... [wikipedia off]

enjoy few pictures from this so colorful island😄

great value for money, our 3 star hotel silver beach in Trou D'eau Douce :-)

bed
so tasty + nice prepared food, maybe the best we have ever had on holidays, similar to the 5 star hotel in the dominican republic few years ago

 drinks

beach + mountains on the horizon

the south is colorful ... bus station in FLACQ

few more general insights on mauritius? ok, maybe about value for money down here? well, mauritius is not really poor (we have seen less beggars as we have in the centre of munich) and the most people smile or look relaxed as far as we can tell. even if the prices in the supermarkets are not very cheap (only a little bit cheaper as we have in the discount markets in munich) and the food in the streets is not cheap either (coconut a little bit more than 1 euro, coffee at the bus station kiosk 60 cents, a small peach lassi yogurt drink in the supermarket 50 cents ..... t-shirts about 5 euros, short pants maybe 7 - 8 euro). but what is really cheap here is public transport (30 minutes bus drive only 60 cents) and unbelievable cheap is labour. you can get a taxi driver for a whole day (incl. petrol) for only 70 euro. cheap labor is also the reason why there are so many waiters running around us, why there is every evening live music or a show in our hotel. the people here earn maybe between 250 euro (beginners in public sector?) up to 1,500 euro per month (good jobs in the private sector), the most of them probably between 500 tand700 euro a month .... it makes us feel so colonial, all the white folks being served by the dark skinned locals ,,,,, hmmm, it is a strange feeling, my dears but not too nice one i feel ... anyway, the second week came few young couples from india for their honeymoon and also few chinese tourist / businessmen, so it changed the situation a lot :-)

for my american + russian friends who are not used to euros, 1 EUR = 1.38 USD and 1 EUR = 49.89 rubles today
all in all, for me is mauritius more like asia than africa :o)

if interested, you can find more pictures in my google album ~ enjoy :-)

gods are angry

what a day at zugspitze on sunday. well, it is a tradition of mine, to go to the snowy hills before 1st summer holiday of the year, to make the contrast of emotions snow vs. sun as big as possible .... what did the gods think about it us people? i'm not sure, but watch the pictures  from zugspitze made at MINUS 4 degrees celsius below ... what if i told you that on my way down from the top of germany even our cable car stopped in the tunnel with a brakes accident and we stayed for some 15 minutes without a move there, for some time even without any light?
anyway, next see-the-world aka travel update will hopefully come from the southern hemisphere ~ mauritius. the southern hemisphere is special by many ways, but do you know what is the most interesting one for me? there are NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS deployed in the south. hell, in the north we have nukes both in the old historic city centre of berlin and in the mini-country of  liechtenstein, but there are no damned nukes in the whole southern hemisphere? poor north, if you asked me :-)

doug casey / casey research

doug casey (source: the daily bell)

a great, great, great interview with libertarian perspective on gold, money, economy, politics, corruption, 9/11, osama bin laden, freedom, liberty, prosperity, ron paul, investing, mankind, ...

done & published by the daily bell on september 4, 2011 (~a really hard stuff, takes some time 2 read it, but its soooooo important 2 know => enjoy it anyway :-)

and yes, doug also invests in junior mining companies, like me  ;-)

I didn’t coin the phrase “Greater Depression,” that was Doug Casey, my partner; and I think Doug had it exactly right. I think, you know, there has been so much of a, as I’ve said, this sort of rising tide of bad policy and extreme spending and a takeover of the economy – and not just the US economy, but all of the economies by these governments, the nation-states – that things have reached the point, people tend to think that things are going to stay the same and continue as they are, but they don’t. Sooner or later, history shows over and over again, things break, systems break, and I think we are very close to that. There is never a good time to fix this kind of a problem. So politicians will always make the choice to not actually address the problem, but rather to leave it to the next person’s watch. This isn’t – this would be a horrible time, absolutely a horrible time to fix the problems that face the American economy. Slashing the deficit, slashing the debt, slashing the government spending at this point would have catastrophic consequences to the average person. There would be riots in the street; but if you don’t fix it now, when do you fix it? Okay, well, do you fix it in the next year? No. Do you fix it the year after? The government will do whatever it can to keep pushing this down the road, but they can’t push it down the road much further. ~ david galland, managing director @ www.caseyresearch.com

addendum january 4th, 2012: doug casey on north korea's baby kim ...
hi friends, ive subscribed for casey research newsletter some time ago and of course dont have enough time to read it, but 2day ive just opened the current copy and couldnt stop reading it until finished

what does it mean? easy, if u are a hard core fan of econopolitics just open this link and read abt north korea's baby kim, iran, ron paul, education, freedom, prosperity, danger for peace coming out of u.s. army / u.s. government, gold, gold stocks, etc

all other folks just skip the issue

addendum january 5th, 2012: when is the right time to leave the USA?

folks, before i share a link to doug's next nice2read + really interesting econopolitics interview, i will tell ya his views are not 100% my perspective. why not? well, instead of leaving the sinking ship i would rather repair & fix it, u know? imho is the current almost worldwide #OccupyWallStreet movement the best possible outcry for real democracy and a sustainable life in peace, we shouldnt miss that chance ... and yes, there is still that ron paul 4 president 2012 chance #2 issue

Doug Casey Addresses Getting Out of Dodge - Casey Research

last but not least, an interesting interview with dough casey (even if i didn't like the noisy place he was interviewed in and completely disliked dough's opinion on uranium which is IMHO really really dangerous and expensive if all costs were billed to the electric power companies instead of taxpayers):
