my father visits me maybe 2-3 times a year. just to make sure you understood, we DO NOT DRINK BEER all day. of course, i try to show him our beautiful bavaria. for example, this time we've been at the winter hiking trail at lake spitzingsee.
few other days we have seen munich from the bavarian beer perspective🍻
he loves the hofbräuhaus (ground-floor what most people know + upper floors usually for events + inside & outside), but it is his duty call for lunch when he walks in the city center during the day and i'm in my office job, so we didnt went there together this time. the oktoberfest was also already few times at our agenda, when he was here the right time end of september ... the same applies to the beer museum / oktoberfest museum, our local bavarian beergarden aubinger einkehr, ... and few more.
this time we have been to the nearby freiham beergarden / restaurant. to the tourists' bunker ratskeller aka town halls cellar at marienplatz as well. the nicest part was this one: first we walked at the 'other side' of the isar river. that means we've started at isartor, then reached the deusches museum (okay, it is located on an island in the middle of the isar river), continued to the müllersches volksbad (historical bath / spa), muffathalle and via the paths & bridges over the isar river and the historical lehel suburb back to isartor into the isarthor. huuuh? yes. isarthor is the historical pub / restaurant like in 1850s at the isartor square.
lets start with hofbräuhaus ...
any ideas for our next beer tour in munich? let's consider:
- the restaurant direct in the augustiner brewery, hackerbrücke
- schneider weißbräuhaus (weißbierhaus?) im tal close to marienplatz
- the augustiner beer cellar (augustinerkeller), hackerbrücke from the other side of the train rails => done, april 2024, just see the pictures below
- alter wirt in obermenzíng = the oldest guesthouse in the munich's area (since 1417). it is older than the hundskugel (since 1440), which ist often the #1 hit you will get from google / wikipedia for munich. at hundskugel they say, obermenzing was outside of munich then⏰🍀⌛ => done, april 2024, see (nicer) pictures from a former visit above
- beergarden at lake langwieder see => done, april 2024
- schlossschänke blutenburg castle (since 1438) => pictures above
few pictures are taken from my beer album.
all others from walking in munich. but be careful, there are 800+ pictures at the moment, so consider well, wheter you wanna jump into that area 😇
