32nd wedding anniversary, neuschwanstein, DE-BY

our 32nd wedding anniversary in the #1 (or just #2 or #3?) tourist spot in bavaria (and also one of the most famous popular in germany) i.e. at the neuschwanstein castle. there are approx 1.5 millions visitors per year, so it is probably more worth than some strange statistics. the dome of cologne has apparently 4 million visitors a year ... and in some statistics there is the city of berlin in front of neuschwanstein. huuuh? you can impossibly compare a complete city to a single building, can you?

well, we've stayed 2 nights in one of the 4 or 5 hotels directly in hohenschwangau, which means we were in between the castles neuschwanstein + hohenschwangau. of course, beside all our hiking + dining we've managed also to visit the medieval + beutiful city of füssen and enjoyed the scenery of the ammergauer alps (ammergebirge) in our beautiful bavaria, BY.

just to make it clear, we celebrate our wedding anniversary (end of february), the day we started to live together (september 8th) and even much more the day a half year after that (march 8th), which is exactly also the international women's day ... as our children are big enough, we use to spend a weeked in the hills and we call it eherettungsmaßnahme (DE), which means a measure to save our marriage 😁

pictures, pictures, pictures: enjoy the beautiful lake alpsee with swans + ducks, lake schwansee without any swans, the ugly artificial and deflated lake forggensee (they always drain the lake in winter time almost completely and hope the lech river brings enough water from austria in the spring), the frozen lake bannwaldsee next to it, the nearby lake hopfensee where a friend of my wife has an airbnb accomodation which we have visited and seen it is really suitable for a week of mobile work for me (maybe in may or june?), the king's ludwig II of bavaria neuschwanstein castle, his father's hohenschschwangau castle, our nice historical hotel müller in between the two castles, the medieval city of füssen, the lech river, a hiking tour from the marienbrücke (a bridge over the pöllatschlucht canyon from where the best pictures of the neuschwanstein castle are made), a hiking tour around the lake alpsee the next day ...
