lodz, PL, 2018 and 1993

we have been already many, many, many, many times to lodz visiting my wife's family... look what an album created google automatically here
the former poznanski's factory site is the beautiful shopping & leisure center manufaktura 'manufa' today

this time we have dared to jump into the city's historical museum in the poznanski palace. yes, it was a really nice experience. it was so crazy to learn that in 1820 had lodz only 767 inhabitants and thanks to rapid development of the textile industry (especially under russian administration) in 1914 almost half a million and before WWII already 670,00 ... unbelievable. there were poles, germans, jews and russian folks (+ few french and english industrialists too) living close to each other and in peace ...
that was probably also the time when in germany arised the folk song 'theo, we go to lodz' (theo, wir fahren nach lodsch)
lodz 💓

our last (longer) visit to lodz was at all hollows, so have have concentrated our attention on the cemeteries. enjoy especially the pictures from the combined catholic / protestant / orthodox cemetery close to the manufactura site here. this time i've visited the jewish cemetery in the northern part of the lodz. beside really old graves there are also many commemorative plaques for the victims of the litzmannstadt ghetto from WWII. so sad :-((

sinai (egypt 2018)

the summer is over, i know 😇
well, it took some time till i've got the time and the mood to upload pictures and to share my travel experiences ... we have seen a lot this summer and it was probably my best summer ever ... if s.th. is too good to be true, the euphory transforms into lethargy, you know? i hope i will make some blog updates in the upcoming winter weeks, so we can bring the summer back to our memories easily

maybe because there were not that many tourists as usually, the local businesses and local people have a hard time to survive. we felt that the egyptian people we met were often somehow sad and sometimes even unfriendly, so let's hope time will bring peace and prosperity into the whole mideast region soon.

security conference munich ~ sicherheitskonferenz 2018

soooooo, the protest against the next security conference in munich is over. the security conference (MSC) or military science conference which is its former name (~ wehrkundetagung, sicherheitskonferenz / SiKo) is an event where the military complex meets politics and where the west plans its wars of aggression. just read the names of the attendees (stoltenberg, netanyahu (netanjahu), guterres, mattis, poroschenko, kagame and many, many heads of governments, NATO, intelligence agencies like CIA and MOSSAD, foreign ministers, 'defense' ministers, the weapon industry and many more here)

we are many thousands activists in the streets against this war supporting and thus refugees creating event, you know? let's stop NATO, let's stop WAR.

enjoy few pictures:
me, preparing for the demo :-)

hmmm, why is besides the North Atlantic Terror Organization (NATO) also BMW the logo for war? even if  among many others BMW also sponsors the munich war conference, krauss maffei or rheinmetall or EADS would be more suitable, if you asked me ...

NATO's blood track: iraq, yugoslavia (kosovo), afghanistan, libya, syria, ...
there were many kurdish protesters ... and many from congo / ruanda as well
our ignorance is maybe the reason why also (western) wars of aggression work :-(
