tioman island, malaysia

malacca => taxi => intercity bus => mersing => speed boat => tioman island (pulau tioman, malaysia) ... yes, it is really as easy as that, 6 or 8 hours later we arrived in complete different world ... here in the northern part of the island (~ salang) there are even no roads, no cars, just small ways for motorbikes witch transport all the things needed from A to B ... and yes, water taxi is everything unless you like trekking through the jungle to the next village as i did today in order to visit monkey bay

well, now we are in the divers' paradise in the eastern malaysia - swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, watching the komodo dragon like lizards from the bridge over the (ugly + stinky) stream on our way to the beautiful beach, no rain season in the eastern part of the peninsula either ... komodo dragons? comodo? you still remember bali / indonesia 4 years ago, don't you?

btw, do you know what is the strangest thing out there? here is some tax free / islam restrictions free zone and e.g. beer costs only 30% what it costs in kuala lumpur or malacca => OMG, cheers :-)

OMG, komodo dragons ... nice

some updates and pictures will follow soon, as for now here is the link to my tioman pictures

well, here it is so nice, do we really need to move to the cameron highlands or perhentian islands later on? who cares, let's visit the monkey beach first .... my dears, tioman is a really, really beautiful island and still so original = jungle + beaches + sea .... and you know what? it is even nicer underwater with all its coral reefs + colorful fishes ;-)

EnWave = next level of dehydration

the future of dehydration technology? who knows, but ive spent a nice investor lunch event in munich yesterday :-)

well, despite temporary ups and downs, on balance my investment didnt move an inch since early 2010 (in €uro terms), but i somehow feel its gonna be good what these guys create so i bought few more shares on market opening, u know? of course, if u asked me i prefer natural blueberries, strawberries, ananas, women to dehydrated ones ... and i dont like bacteria, vaccines and the like at all (no matter if natural or dehydrated), but there are for sure applications esp in the food and medicine industries which use all that dehydrated stuff, so what?

why do i think this technology and enwaves royalty model will succeed? it is simply the fastest and cheapest technology ... and yes, you only need a microwave and some vacuum. easy, isnt it? there was some slide in the presentation which tells ya anything but enwaves 'REV' dehydration approach is rubbish, but it is designed rather 4 technical people not homo sapiens financialis like me :-)

of course, the CEO john mcnicol told s.th. like it is not that easy to reproduce this technology that every competitor and every useless creature like myself could do it by themselves at no costs and no know-how and then sell the idea 2 nestle, danone, novartis, roche, merck ... and become rich over night ...

anyway, that brings me to next brilliant jaro gruber concept, my dear! i gonna dehydrate my investment ideas, thus keep them fresh for loooong periods of time and sell them 2 FED, ECB, goldman sachs, JPM, RBS, BoE, BoJ, pboc, deutsche bank and all other financial mafia institutes which have enough money 2 pay 4 that or have access 2 taxpayers money or both.

cheers!

champagne meets investment

cheers!

where 2 start and where 2 end? hell, what a question on a day like that! folks, that was on thursday, a day when the small and till then not too succesful slovakian soccer team have beaten the reigning world champion italy in a crazy game 3 : 2 and thus qualified 4 the play-offs at the world championship in south africa :-)). go slovakia go! how 2 celebrate a success like that? folks, believe me, champagne meets investment was the right event 2 visit! well, it was organized by a small financial planning company EFC in the beautiful rooms of the old arco-palais in the very centre of munich. of course, there was a small entrance fee in order 2 avoid investment folks who just wanna eat and drink for free ...

the topics 2day?
  • real estate fund (tax saving investment, duration approx 10 years)
  • solar energy fund (a 20 years green investment with already defined 'government' prices 4 solar energy)
  • big picture market overview (hyperinflation?)
  • champagne "brugnon"+ delicious food from one of the 2 city's best catering companies dallmayr. btw, do u still remember the käfer-guys?
  • informal investor blah-blah abt markets, investment opportunities, hot stocks, soccer, south africa + africa + corruption slowing down the foreign investments, oil, gold, wheat investments (farm land!), ...
  • ...
me, trying and succeeding 2 open a bottle of rose champagne the traditional way ... like napoleon bonaparte used to ... by sword! hehe :-)

silver

item--------------: silver >> position closed
units--------------: 1
order type--------: limit
trade type--------: long
entry date--------: 09/22/2008, 18:28
entry price-------: 13.53
initial stop-loss--: 13.33
new stop-loss----:
exit date---------: 09/23/2008, 07:32
exit price---------: 13.33
profit (loss) in %-: (1.45%)
profit (loss)------: (0.20) => (20 usd)
reason why + strategy: i did recognize a flag chart pattern again, so i decided to open a new position. after my entry i've put a proper stop-loss-limit below the flag. the falling usd against euro and raising gold also 'supported' my decision. after that could the silver price increase a little to 13.63, but not enough to really allow me to move my exit point above my entry price.
lessons learned: good trade. my opinion was wrong (in the short run :-). my position was stopped out with small loss.

item--------------: silver >> position closed
units--------------: 1
order type--------: limit
trade type--------: long
entry date--------: 09/18/2008, 21:11
entry price-------: 12.11
initial stop-loss--:
new stop-loss----: 12.22 => 12.66 => 13.13 (09/22/2008)
exit date---------: 09/23/2008, 17:39
exit price---------: 13.13
profit (loss) in %-: 8.42 %
profit (loss)------: 1.02 => 102 usd
reason why + strategy: after selling all silver positions earlier today (= 09/18/2008, thanX goodness before the today's sell-off orgy late in the night :o) i felt so bad without any silver. at the market low 11.77 i wasn't sure the temporary sell-off was over (never catch a falling knife :), then i didn't had the needed patience to get an better filling so i removed my limit order and bought 'market' at a not very cheap point ....
lessons learned: good trade. my opinion was CORRECT, so i could move my stop-loss-levels higher and higher. position was stopped out with nice profit :-))

btw, after work i was with 2 friends in beer garden / pub today and i spent there less money than i've lost yesterday with my dow jones trades => drinking beer is a cheaper hobby than trading :o) cheers!
