my oil SPECULATION

folks, i've bought few oil call options (warrants). this low, low, low oil prices cannot last forever!!! let's benefit from return to normality i.e. increasing oil prices in the next few years :o)

trading symbol: DE000GS1T1R3 (~ GS1T1R)
underlying future: brent oil
strike: $90
date of maturity: 11/14/2011
price: €1.28

damned hell, there must be some price movement in the next 2.5 years! hopefully is goldman sachs (= emitter) not bankrupt before oil skyrockets & thus my call options makes me rich, rich, rich ;o)). sounds like an easy bet, isn't it? well, there have been also much longer running call options and therefore much more expensive ones on the market e.g. emitted by jp morgan (5 years) and societe generale (till 2016), but i think 2.5 years is enough :-))

what about oil INVESTMENTs (not speculation!) in general? well, my trading buddy valentin covered that issue recently, pls read his complete analysis (in german) in his blog ... thx, valentin :o)

investors' dinner with commerce resources

investors, watch out! traders, pls move 2 the next posting :o))

a nice evening with the representatives of zimtu capital and its successful spin-offs/acquisitions commerce resources, evolving gold, western potash, tripledragon, ...

folks, i've bought few more shares of commerce resources + western potash, let's watch if they really have such shiny future as david hodge (CEO of commerce) believes :o).

btw, i've decided not to buy zimtu capital as they have no real website (just 1 nearly empty page with telefone number + email address. there is no company overview, history, management, etc.). IMHO it is very strange when there is no volume on german stock exchanges (and even worse: also no volume in canada!), so i asked the company representatives by email what's the matter there :o)

.... to do tomorrow ? ... more details ... :o)...
  • 04/02/2009 => well, the answer from zimtu/commerce PR lady made some sense to me => let's buy 1000 zimtu capital shares i.e. approx. 300 €uros as there is no volume at fair price and thus the buyers have to pay some premium above canadian TSX price. well, 2 days ago i could probably get the same number of shares 40 €uros cheaper, but mr. market changed his mind and moved all boats a little bit higher ...

yabbadabbadoooo! my stocks +5.53%, my commodities +18.06% TODAY!

what a nice day for gold bugs / commodity bugs today!

i'm so happy about today's increase in gold/silver price ;o). good-bye fiat currencies! good-bye corrupt governments! good-bye small dirty central banks ... folks, welcome to the gold standard era again :o))

ps: my gold / silver / energy / commodity stocks rallied 5.53% today and my CFDs (silver, natural gas, sugar, orange juice, coffee) moved my micro account 18.06% higher ...

silver stopped out :o(

item--------------: silver
units--------------: 1
trade type--------: long
order type--------: market buy / limit sell
entry date--------: 03/13/2009, 17:14
entry price-------: $13.22
initial stop loss--: $12.77
new stop-loss----:
exit date---------: 03/16/2009, 14:44
exit price---------: $12.77
profit (loss) in %-: (3.4%)
profit (loss)------: ($45)
reason why + strategy: silver is in my opinion so unbelievable cheap and the financial crisis is out there! damned hell, do i really need some other reason for that trade? no, i do not! let's bet some money on my opinion! folks, i would like to hold this position very, very, very long. how long? at least till silver reaches its 2008's temporary high @ 21 dollars, that would mean a profit of about 800 bucks on that single position! well, my current account size is too small to risk a (possible!) temporary decrease in silver price, especially because the usd could strengthen against its small dirty paper buddy €uro. how low could the (comex) paper silver price fall? IMHO e.g. to the november/december lows bellow $9. that would mean a loss of about $500 for my account which is too much considering that my overall account balance is just $2,000.
lessons learned: ... even if the silver price fell just $0.02 bellow my limit and climbed up again, let's ALWAYS use stop limits :o)
  • 03/19/2009:
thx goodness i've opened a new long silver position yesterday .... well, it was late in the evening after i've returned from my office job and after silver rallied 4%, but today rallied silver additional 5%. yabbadabbadooo !!!

o tempora o mores!

- financial markets like crazy bazaars: 7% up one day, 3% down next, 4% up again! hmmm, double digit volatility in soooo many single stocks => is it the complete craziness out there?

- folks running amok in usa => 11 death in alabama yesterday :o((

- folks running amok in germany => 17 death in stuttgart yesterday o(

- utter mockery in my office today! the employee management process turns after recent hostile takeover by a neighboring department into a complete farce! who is the last out of 5 people who will be forced to leave the current job and move in the new boss' team? is that me? all indications show it should be an older colleague of mine, but there is a small problem: he is not able to do the programming jobs in the new department ;o((. damned hell, can anybody tell me, why do some colleagues like him (who have been lucky enough to reach a higher salary group few years ago) earn 1,000 €uros more than me each month? and why got they double as high salary increase just because of their group membership this year? even when they can do just 1/3 or 1/2 of all tasks in our department?!? do you call that fairness? is it the axiom 'same money for same job' or prolly the next dimension in some super-duper employee motivation program @bmw? maybe even all of that? btw, will i also earn 1,000 €uros more if i convert to a lazy, incompetent employee? let's ask my boss next time! => quo vadis, BMW ???
05/14/2009 => if you thought the craziness @bmw is over you are wrong ...

oh the times! oh the customs!

PPT still alive!

folks, did you notice the hard work of the plunge protection team yesterday?

it's unbelievable! we were 30 minutes before the weekend and before incalculable overnight-risks, the DJIA have rapidly broken its multi-years-lows to the downside, the employment market data becomes worse from 1 week to the next, the horror news from the banking sector continues floating the markets like if there were some monstrous assembly line behind ... and what happened next? well, the DJIA futures shoot up as if that was the last buying opportunity for the next 5 years ;-)). DJIA not just 'corrected' it's huuuuge daily losses, it also closed @ +0.49% and moved also other market indexes into the winning range, just for the nasdaq100 came that crazy buying rally a little bit too late, nasdaq100 closed @ -0.91% yesterday

bravo PPT! congratulations! you could 'rescue' the wall street (& thus the whole financial world) a week longer ...

... folks, my portfolio could recover a little bit from yesterday's huuuuge losses! it increased approx. by the same rate as the general stock markets <=> djia +2.2%, s&p500 +2.3%, nasdaq100 +2.7%, sugar +4%, gold -1%, lead +7.7%, ..., WTI oil +9.75% (!!!)
