even if this pretty part of world is less than 2 hours away from munich by car, we knew just the (cinderella) neuschwanstein castle and its surroundings like the hohenschwangau castle, the tegelberg mountain, the lake alpsee and the city of füssen till now. what a pity!

hochmoor oberjoch (moor bath) - i was quite disappointed here as there is a wooden floor for security reasons and we could not walk trough the black swamp like it is possible in the moor lake in bad bayersoien. the locals said, the moor would tear us down, so let's believe an appreciate it 😇

what is a city by definition? there are few cities in germany with former roman military settlements / fortresses which claim to be oldest german cities. well, kempten is the one closest to rome 😉 and yes, the northern alps were conquered by the romans approximately in 15 BC. anyway, there was already a celtic settlement kambodounon and later a roman fortress cambodunum at the iller river. of course, you can visit the archeological park if you want to. kempten is also the city which is mentioned as the eldest city in a document in germany as a celtic polis (city) kambodounon in 18 BC.

what a wonderful birthday party of my old buddy with vintage cars + motorbikes + bicycles in mohelnice (müglitz), CZ. my dears, there was an activities program, too:
an old restored water electric plant at the march river (reka morava)
a private collection of military equipment
a private collection of vintage bikes
an ice cream station 😋
an old brewery and guest house which is renovated from private funds and where is still so much to do ...
all of the sites visited and the beautiful restored historic cars / bikes / bicycles too had 1 thing in common: behind them stands a tremendous enthusiasm of the owners, who invest huge amounts of time, money and energy in order to make old stuff beautiful and functional again.

this red Aero 20 (also Aero 1000) was produced in the aero factory in prague between 1933 - 1934 and is one of only 236 cars produced.
btw, its predecessor Aero 662 „Klingeling“ (also Aero 18) was produced between 1931 - 1934 in the total number of 2,692 cars.
heaven & hell, why the name AERO for a car? the aero company was founded 1919 in prague and produced originally airplanes. haha, it is somehow similar to the history of my employer, the BMW company in munich, DE which was founded 1916 as an airplane engine producer 😃.

eliska misakova is the only athlete in history who got the olympic gold medal in memoriam.
she was a member of the czechoslovak women team at the london 1948 olympic games. she got ill and was diagnosed the polio disease (kinderlähmung), which was incurable at that time. she died in a london hospital at the time when her team fought and won the gold medal.

in the countryside, outside the touristic hotspots like prague, brno (brünn) or olomouc (olmütz), is much money and effort needed in order to restore the historic buildings, you see?
