business lunch

the resource investment community is still alive, despite the so depressed commodity prices ...

following 6 companies presented their stories in cooperation with jochen's swiss resource company in munich:
  • inca one gold (TSX-V: IO) ~ processing of gold ore in peru ~ i've bought few more shares as it is one of very few commodity companies in my portfolio which didn't collapse in 2013 or in 2014
  • timmins gold corp (TSX: TMM, NYSE-MKT: TGD) ~ gold production in mexico ~ all in costs approximately $1,000 per ounce ~ current gold price $1,200/oz ~ i've bought a small initial position approximately at USD 1.35
  • rye patch gold (TSX.V: RPM) ~ gold + silver in nevada / usa ~ royalties from the rochester silver mine (operated by coeur d'alene, all legal issues between coeur and rye could be solved) + exploration ~ my former investment is probably 30%-50% down
  • avanti energy inc (TSX.V: AVN) ~ small producer of oil in brazil and in usa from wells which were often 'left behind'
  • falco resources (TSX.V: FPC) ~ gold exploration in historic rouyn-noranda camp in abitibi / quebec / canada ~ i've bought a small initial position approximately at approx. CAD 0.54
  • cortez gold (TSX.V: CUT) ~ gold-silver concentrates processing in mexico ~ my limit order for an initial position was fulfilled few days later at CAD 0.45
  • HDI rathdowney rersources  (TSX.V: RTH) ~ a Hunter Dickinson Inc. company focused on a zinc project (planned commercial production in 2017 - 2018)  in poland. additional assets are a discovery stage zinc project in ireland and a 16% interest in HDI heatherdale (TSX.V: HTR) which has a devolopment stage copper-gold-zinc-silver project in alaska / usa
why do i buy so much stuff despite falling commodity markets? well, thanks to my peace activism (#OccupyWallStreet movement) i've learned that in order to save the world somebody should do it. but who is somebody? yes, you are right: all of us are somebody ~ me, you, our neighbours and their grandma ... so do not wait for somebody but start by yourself ... and thus in investing i buy few shares, some physical metals and i hope if many of us will do the same we can change the precious metals markets in our favorite direction .... => go gold bugs go and let's crash the fraudulent paper money system ... which among other things allows bankrupt states like USA, GB, FR, GER, ITA, ukraine, ... and its small dirty NATO armies to start (and to finance) wars all over the planet :-( ...

more coming soon or never :-)

investor lunch with golden predator (TSX:GPD)

the golden predator guys + girls presented their company in munich today and yes, i liked it :-)
unlike the last few presentations, i'm going to post my insights on the company this time:
  • yukon's upcoming gold producer as the brewery creek mine is going to start production in 2014. what if not? well, then they still could brew beer and sell it to other miners in the area, couldn't they? lol
  • portfolio of gold royalties in nevada which generates approximately $ 1m a year and could / should generate more as the underlying mines start and/or ramp up their production. the whole royalty business could become a future spin-off as a independent compan, who knows?
  • quite well financed up to the start of own gold production, no need to raise capital at present so depressed stock price level
  • some other assets out there as well, like an old mill in nevada, share packages in 2 or 3 other companies, few early stage gold projects besides brewery creek etc. and so fort
  • what else? hmmm, there was that positive guts feeling issue, you see? i liked many things the CEO william sheriff said: generating cash is the most important issue (many explorer companies still try to increase their reserves / resources even if since 2008 mr. market doesn't value it at all), he prefers to under promise & over deliver, he wants to run the company as a business (profitable!), moved the headquarters from hyper expensive vancouver / canada to silver valley in idaho / usa ... unfortunately, i'm both too lazy + too stupid to check out how many shares he has bought in the last few years and at which price, but i think on average he has paid more than me today (damn, is anyone who's less lazy + less stupid than me going to send me a link to the corresponding insiders' trading reports?)
  • cheap like an unwanted pet, the current price is close to the lowest levels in the last 5 years. will they go bankrupt when the current mining markets continues their ugly downturn? hell, i do not think so, they are already fairly close to (profitable) production and there are still the royalties. the gold price is not going to fall below &1,000 per ounce, is it?
  • what to do? as for me, the same procedure as so often: i've bought few shares today, subscribed for company's newsletter and thus i'm going to follow their development
bill sheriff mentioned also few companies which are somehow connected to golden predator or its directors via some equity investments the one way or the other:
  • my struggling silver producer alexco resources and golden predators neighbor in the yukon territories in canada
  • silver predator (TSX:SPD)
  • wolfpack gold (private company as for now)
  • redtail metals (TSX.V:RTZ) ~ very early stage precious + base metals explorer in the yukon with very low trading volume right now. it is a company i will look closer at and probably buy few shares if i will find some money and not forget to do so ... well, let's link the predator group's website for fast access here
good luck, my lovely golden predator fighters, good luck :-)

addendum november 8th: i've just bought few shares of redtail metals. too expensive as often because i don't want to wait for a cheap(er) price, but compared to the price level we have had months ago still very cheap (CAD 0.13 per share. 28% more expensive than 1 day ago). there is not much volume out there and especially not many sellers, so it is a long term play and i have to hope the management makes the company a succcess and this will creates some market for the share trading as well :-)

so what about my investments in november? well, i'm trying to tell the temporary mining market bottom and to be fully invested for the upcoming rally, thus i've used my margin up to the tilt, you know? good luck my lovely commodity plays, good luck :-)
go gold bugs go and let's crash this fraudulent fiat money system now :o)

addendum november 27th: i've just bought few more shares of redtail metals + golden predator. redtail at CAD 0.095 and predator at CAD 0.30 per share at market opening. hell, the overwhelming fear in the mining stocks market makes every new purchase cheap. anyway, after more than 1 and half years of correction (the peak was the gold @ $1,900 and silver at $50 per ounce event in may 2011 i think) the mining stocks should / could / would finally go up, wouldn't you say?

great panther silver

great update on great panther silver (TSX: GPR) 2day ... any details? despite the current share price which is down approx 50% from the level it was at a year ago everything looks fine @great panther ... and yes, silver was close to $50 per ounce then instead of the current $32, hmmmmm ....
  • 2 producing silver mines in central mexico
  • profitable
  • $40m cash
  • steady rising production, earnings, profits, ... what abt steady rising share price? haha, 2 nice 2 be true, isnt it?
  • stable political jurisdiction
  • growth through expansion of own activities and/or acquisition ... just in case u asked yourself what is the $40m cash for ;-)
  • moving from junior 2 mid-tier silver producer soon (5m ounces a year)
  • GPR = 74% Ag + 20% Au + 6% Pb & Zn

of course, the CEO bob archer answered not only questions abt the company itself but also abt equity markets, silver, gold, ... btw, what do u think would the price of silver be if there was no investment demand (ie only industrial supply + demand pattern)? any idea out there what level bob thought abt?

meow, miau ;-)

donner metals + donnybrook energy

zinc + gas? how does that fit 2gether? well, the CEO dave patterson presented his 2 companies donner metals + donnybrook energy in munich 2day ... (pls follow that links for more details abt my perspective on these companies from former investor presentations ;-)

any news? well, the outlook for donner metals is great cos they are much closer to production of Zn / Cu / Ag / Au in quebec / canada as they have been at dave's last visit. nevertheless their share price collapsed in the recent market correction as if there were no tomorrow, hmmmm ... on top we will prolly see collapsing zinc output from existing mines, so we just have to get the demand side of the supply & demand pattern correctly in order to predict future zinc prices, true? .... btw, donner's production will replace the mill feed from an old xstrata's mine which is going out of production in late 2012 / early 2013 ... well, now u know why is xstrata zinc canada (65%) the major partner of donner (35%) in that promising project :-)

what abt donnybrook? hmmm, i had to leave early 2day cos i had a meeting in my office job which i couldnt reject or shift to a later time, so i just catched some of dave's explanations abt the energy + gas markets and abt new gas drilling methods in general, but not much abt the company itself ... i even dont know when should some drill results etc come out and im too lazy to move 2 their website for some update on operations ... but who cares? at the current low low low gas prices they should better keep their gas under the ground, shoudnt they?

u know what? the other folks out there told me that unlike 2008 there is a lot of money in the markets waiting for places to go in .... and yes, a debt financing (fixed rates for some time) is more popular than equity financing (private placements of new shares etc) ... hmmmm, strange, isnt it?  ... even AFTER the crash in the resource sector are the investors scared to invest, hmmmmm ...

alexco resource? SILVER!

next investor lunch event, the #337 i think ... just kidding, of course :)

well, i like these events ... i like 2 talk 2 company representatives, to meet few old faces i know already 4 years and there is always s.th. to learn abt the stocks, commodities, industry insights, markets, metals & more

and its profitable as well! just imagine, its just 2 weeks ago when ive really noticed alexco for the 1st time as it was mentioned by euroscandic's daniel at the encanto potash presentation. ive bought few shares at that time and the stock quotes 27% higher 2day!!! well, i liked what ive heard from both the CEO and largest alexcos shareholder clynton nauman, so ive prompt decided 2 buy few more shares ... by some fortunate coincidence i came 2 my wife's notebook when the price was CAD 6.12 and thus before the major portion of 2days +5.67% increase ... last quote? CAD 6.34

any special issues?
  • yukon / canada
  • historic production of many millions ounces of silver in the district
  • there is also zinc, lead, indium out there ... how much? well, if they hedged their Zn/Pb production at current prices they would get all that shiny silver for free + make a huuuge profit + could unload all leftover indium in my garden ;-). hell! i woudda know what 2 do with this stuff, u know?
  • high high high grades! unbelievable high grades! ive never heard abt average silver grades above 40 ounces per ton before ... prolly only the silver mountain in potosi / bolivia had such grades hundreds years ago :)
  • even the historical tailings have higher silver grades than most silver producers encounter currently (sorry, forgot the precise number, not going 2 search that at alexcos website cos it smells like work, u see?)
  • an own environmental division which already generates some cash flow and is prolly going to clean up the whole mining district after all mining is done few years from now
  • a strong partnership with silver wheaton which funded CAD 50m in order 2 build up the 1st mine in exchange of some part of silver produced. got it? SLW guys DO NOT invest in shity properties or shity companies, so its going 2 be a great success here, i believe ;-)
  • well financed
  • relatively low number of shares outstanding and no additional dilution planned (u still remember that the CEO is also a major shareholder, dont u?)
  • any risks? of course, mining is risky! ive told u that already, didnt i? what abt much lower metal prices, bad luck, some technical problems within the mine and/or mill, the current quite high stock price level, no luck at all in order 2 increase their low proven/inferred/indicated mineral reserves  ... or all of that? who knows?
  • anything more? yes, yes, yes! the production is going 2 start within the Q4/2010. wanna know how 'far' away is that? yes? damn! where is my calendar gone?

any pictures out there? well, there is no current mining production @ alexco, thus lets look at the old one. how? dont worry, 2day i had both a day off and also my most creative day of the week and thought i coudda steal some pictures out of alexcos video presentation from their website => enjoy:

good luck, my lovely alexco resource, good luck

donner metals + overview of earth's base metals production

+ overview of earth's base metals production

next investor lunch event 2day => zinc, copper, gold, silver in queebec/canada => BONJOUR!

what abt my comments?
  • strong partnership with xstrata on their major project (35% donner, 65% xstrata)
  • feasibility study done
  • high institutional ownership
  • going step by step on their way into production
  • still need 2 raise approx CAD 35m in order to meet their agreements with xstrata. btw, wanna help out?
  • wanna look-up 'donner' in a german dictionary?
  • there is no danger of oversupply in the zinc market ...
  • forget the zinc recycling as well cos 2 expensive ... folks, thats 100% true, my father produced zinc out of some waste materials from steel galvanizing process in u.s. steel's factory in eastern slovakia few years ago (too much energy needed!)
  • copper oversupply possible if congo/zambia/etc calm down a little bit and re-start their economies in our lifetimes ... copper mines are huuuuge, can produce for hundreds of years ... copper recycling is easy ...
  • some geologic gibberish, i didnt understand a word, u should prolly better read wikipedia/donner's website instead of my claptrap in order 2 learn s.th. abt geology of mining, ok?
  • production + cash-flow should start in 2013
  • ...
  • any risks? yep, of course! drop in metal prices, xstrata goes bankrupt, the world goes under, they cant manage the CAD 35m financing, they sell too much of their silver/gold/copper upfront and the small dirty corrupt buddies @ fed/ecb/boe/boj print sooo much damned paper money that donners 'fixed' income is nothing compared to the production costs in the future ... or all of that!
  • as always, ive bought few shares, subscribed 4 company's newsletter, like it on facebook, ... this time i didnt wait for the presentation and bought my initial positions few weeks ago, u know?

what abt 2 more xstrata issues?

  • these swiss guys need donners property like crazy cos their nearby mine is going out of production in 2012 and so will their mill!
  • lets hope my donner shares will perform at least as good as my xstrata shares i.e. +277,64% on average since december 2008 + march 2009

good luck, my lovely zinc/copper play, good luck :-)

ohhh, have already forgott, ive bought also few shares in UMG / united mining group, my next silver valley play! well, there is always some good information if u have so many buddies in the mining business, u know?

addendum: overview of earth's base metals production

armageddon 4 commodity bugs ;o(

ugly days, ugly guys!
hell, the 1st crashy day for commodities this year, let's call that armageddon 4 commodity bugs ;o(
well, there were many of them last year (approx 10 days, i think), read abt one of these ugly days here ...

what's my idea 4 this blog post? hmmm, i'm going to count these nasty money losing days in 2010, so in december there will be some number out there :-). of course, it will be subjective and maybe i will also miss few of them (esp. when on holidays!), but i think it will help me 2 track + understand the markets, so what?

well, i plan to update that blog post regularly and maybe even post few comments later abt some specific issues on some of the crashy days like 2day, ok?

btw, i believe that we are in a early phase of hyper-inflationary rally, so my portfolio is gold + silver + commodities + these sectors' stocks long only, of course :-)

few of 2day's 'highlights' :o(
  • my portfolio -3.06%
  • corn -7.10%
  • wheat -7.63%
  • gold -2.11%
  • silver -2.36%
  • oil (wti) -2.41%
  • lead 5.53%
  • zinc -3.94%
  • DJIA -0.34%
  • nasdaq -1.30%
  • ...
  • btw, yesterday was orange juice -11%. crazy, isn't it? well, the most commodities rallied the last few weeks, that's prolly the overreaction into the another direction :-). do you still remember our homo sapiens financialis?
hell, is the world going 2 break apart? let's check the news, if any, which could cause such a downturn ,,,,

armageddon #2, 01/20/2010: yesterday an all-time-high, 2day the 2nd armageddon! well, we never know what's next! hell, maybe that's also one of the reasons why i like the financial markets so much, isn't it? it would be boring if everything was easy

silver and lead -5%, gold -2.5%, agriculture approx -2%, oil -2.5% .... the most of my stocks are down 3% - 8%, my daily 'performance' is -2.91% ... prolly just thx 2 my biggest single position scorpio mining, which is +0.0% today. well, my guess which i have posted few days ago that the most stupid folks sold their scorpio shares soooo cheap already is prolly true, as there was not much volume 2day ...

any cold comfort? yep! i could move the next company from my gold bugs fair watch list into my portfolio as the soooo low limit was hit today - welcome, moly mines (australia ~ molybdenum, copper, iron ore), welcome!

armageddon #3, 01/21/2010: no comments
armageddon #4, 01/26/2010: silver -4%
armageddon #5, 01/27/2010: silver -2.5%, natural gas -3.5%, zinc -5.07% ... all exchange traded commodities despite orange juice (+1.5%) are down, down, down ... so is my portfolio

.... folks, i think i have to stop that 'counter' as there are too many armageddons out there ... or find a new definition for my pain facing all that losses

armageddon #6, 02/04/2010: commodities collapsed on a much stronger usd (e.g. +1.37% against its paper buddy eur):silver -6.66%; gold -3.92%, DJIA -2.61%, my portfolio -3.70%,wti oil -5.53%, .copper -3.18%, ... many of my gold/silver companies (even the industry leaders) are down between 5% (barrick gold) and 12% (hecla miniong), it's just crazy :o(

btw, if i would have any money now, i would BUY all that fallen angels like 1st majestic silver, impact silver, hecla mining, orko silver etc. ... well, i've bought cardero resource corp. + oroco resource corp quite cheap in the last 2 days (btw, i could get cardero 5% cheaper) as i had some remaining money at my trading account and couldn't believe why do the folks sell cardero much, much, much cheaper than their recently received cash reserves and why do the folks sell oroco @ CAD 0.22 when the insiders/managers paid CAD 0.25 two weeks ago => ???
