silver conference in traditional hotel platzl, munich + trump driven market crash :o)

there was a looong and quite interesting silvercon aka silver conference aka roadshow of 6 junior mining and/or exploration companies in munich today.

6 companies => 3 hours => tasty lunch => back to my office to finish some stuff today ...  well, 6 companies a 30 minutes without any real break are too much for 1 day ...

avino silver's CEO david wolfin presents his company at hotel platzl, munich

it was like a deja vu experience for me as i've stopped to join this kind of conferences / road shows few years ago, well before the corona plandemic in 2020 ... why? easy! i've generally lost money when i've invested in this kind of small caps. they usually make roadshows / investors' lunch / investrors' presentations in order to collect money for the next round of financing as they usually issue new shares in order to continue drilling & operating in general sence ...
why did i attend this time? there was 1 company (avino silver) which i like and the show was in the well known hotel platzl in the very center of munich, where i've never been in before. to be honest, i didnt like the hotel at all: not nice from outside, not nice and not any special from inside, no nice views out of the windows ... you name it 😄

after all that cons, lets try to find few pros here:
  • the food / lunch was delicious
  • the conference room was fine and even somehow nice
  • they've had a shoe polish machine 💕in the corridor in their conference area
the traditional hotel platzl, munich
historical views at silver one's project candelaria, nevada, usa

who was here today?
  • avino silver (TSX: ASM, NYSE: ASM) ~ it looks quite good for the company. they have opened a new silver mine in mexico in Q4/2024 and thus increased their production + cash flow + profit + share price as well. i've already few shares and i've bought few more at approx 2.35 CAD, so i'm happy to see that my company is doing well
  • silver storm mining (TSXV: SVRS) ~ they try to re-open the former 1st majestic silver's (TSX: A, NYSE: AG) la parilla mine in the state of durango, mexico. btw, 1st majestic is the single biggest shareholder of silver storm today => i've bought few shares at 0.135 CAD incl. broker's fee in order to watch the company's development in my portfolio ... addendum august 2025: silver storm accuired till capital (TSXV: TIL) on july, 18th, which itself swallowed few of my almost bankrupt mining companies in difficult market conditions (= most often the time periods when the metal prices are low). till capital periodically bought, sold, or held royalty interests and provided capital to mineral exploration companies, you know? thus my new average price for silver storm mining jumped up to 0.55 CAD. well, thats how the junior mining investments look like quite often. at least were these till acquisitions not completely worthless and SVRS with the newly acquired till properties could outplay my losses in the future 😑 ~ addendum 19/2025: i've bought few more SVRS shares at CAD 0.26 after i've spoke to the SVRS guys at the munich precious metals fair in october 2025 and thus reduced my average share price to CAD 0.489
  • alta copper (TSX: ATCU) ~ copper project in peru. i have few shares of alta copper already, which i've got after a chain of bankrcupcies / take-overs / M&A ... e.g. copper fox ... my average acquisition price is 2.80 CAD and the stock trades at 0.44 CAD today. that means i've lost 84% of the money invested and also lost the opportunity to invest that money smarter for many years. that is what i ment above telling ya i've lost that much money with junior mining aka roadshow companies before => anyway, i have bought few cheap shares of alta copper at 0.43 CAD few days after this road show and a month or two later even few more, thus i've reduced my average price from 2.80 to 0.59 CAD. let's hope it makes sense🍀~ addendum december 15th, 2025: today was alta copper overtaken by the australian mining and clean energy company fortescue ltd. (ASX: FMG) for an all-cash settlement at very favorable CAD 1.40 per alta share. there should be some approval at the alta shareholder meeting in january and some more time needed till this operation takes place, thus i've sold all 3,000 shares of alta at CAD 1.37 today with an overall profit of CAD 2,288 which is 1,414 EUR and 128% at capital invested before the 28% tax. profit on my new alta investments since april is logically even much higher. not bad for an investor lunch, is it? as fortescue seems to make nice profits + pays abt 6% in dividends, i've bought few shares of fortescue in australia and will observe its development in the next months & years.
many other companies did even worse than that or are already bankrupt today. unfortunately even 5 - 7 of my really big positions, especially silver + gold miners (not explorers!) like great panther silver + alexco mining + andover mining + americas gold and silver (former scorpio mining) + scorpio gold + jaguar mining + first mining gold + world copper + sterling mining + minco silver + ....
thanks goodness, there are also 4 companies which did really fine and they probably overweight the many brutal losses. it is 1) amerigo resources (copper + molybdenum in chile), 2) wheaton precious metals (former silver wheaton, a royalty company in the precious metals business), 3) hudbay minerals (copper in canada + peru + usa + australia (?). btw, i didnt invest in hudbay directly. i was shareholder of altona mining, which was taken over by copper mountain, which itself was taken over by hudbay) and 4) agnico eagle mines (gold in canada. btw, Ag silver + Ni nickel + Co cobalt = AGNICO, got it? 😄 well, i've got my biggest share blocks of agnico by its takeover of osisko mining in 2014 and of kirkland lake gold in 2022. few more shares also via detour gold, which was taken over by kirkland in 2020. i've owned also few shares of agnico directly, but by far not that many as via its osisko + kirkland acquisitions)
  • u.s. gold (NASDAQ: USAU) ~ no! it is not the former rob mcewen's company ... why not? rob mcewen changed the name to mcewen mining and dropped the old u.s. gold company name and the old website, so luke norman & his team took opportunity to grab it ... u.s. gold is an explorer / producer with gold / copper / silver projects in wyoming, idaho and nevada, usa ~ i've grabbed few shares at 9.23 USD incl. broker's fee
  • tocvan ventures (CSE: TOC, OTCQB: TCVNF, FSE: TV3) ~ a really really small silver explorer in the state of sonora, mexico. the share price looks much too high right now maybe as a result of the current roadshow, so i've placed a very low limit order for this stock. if it comes a little bit down i will probably increase my limit and buy it, even if there is almost no trading volume at all ... and most of the trading is done in germany, which is really strange for a canadian company ... it looks like if the company survives just thanks to its promotion to german investors ...~ my limit order at 0.60 CAD was fullfilled in june
  • silver one (TSXV: SVE) ~ a small silver explorer with projects in nevada, usa. luke norman is also here on the board, whatever that means ... let's put very few shares at 0.221 CAD incl. broker's fee in my portfolio ~ addendum december 18th, 2025: i've increased my positions at CAD 0.385 during the munich precious metals fair in october 2025. well, today i could sell half of my SVE position for CAD 0.59, so my remaining position of this junior-junior silver explorer company is a profit only holding for me 🍀
any conclusion out there? i've bought few more shares of avino and a small initial position in silver storm + u.s. gold + silver one + increased a litle bit my almost bankrupt alta copper stake (a day or two later) in order to watch the development of all these companies via my portfolio. i dont like to create watch lists, so i better invest few bucks and try to become familiar with all 'my' companies. of course, i do not comply too much when such an small investment gets lost completely. of course, if over time i thought a specific company is fine and i've put a lot of money into in, it hurts like hell, when it gets burst later (my most painful invetsments: great panther silver, americas gold and silver = former scorpio mining, tara gold, cuervo resources (copper), baja mining (copper), alderon iron ore, sterling mining (silver), andover mining, alexco resources, jaguar mining (gold), ....), you know? thx goodness, there are also many investments that growed well or were taken over by majors at a reasonable price (amerigo resources (copper), agnico eagle mines (gold) via few direct and investments and few takeovers, hudbay minerals (copper) via my altona mining & copper mountain investments, first majestic mining, wheaton precious metals ... and these sucessful investments at the moment outplay the heavy losses from the quite many bankrupt mining companies mentioned above

maybe just to enter the market cheaper, today was a catastrophic crashy day in the markets: silver was down 6%, dow jones 3.98%, S&P 500 4.83%, nasdaq 100 5.41%,m oil 5%, gold 1.5%, ... next day (friday) fell the markets even much worse. at least almost all stocks were cheaper than few days before and i've bought few shares of some of my favorites from the technology sector. btw, why all that current market crash?
A.) someone already knows usa is going to start a war against iran or the like (addendum august 2025: yep, there was the twelve-day war against iran in june 2025 when israel + USA attacked iran and iran responded bombing esp. israel's industry and cities of tel aviv + haifa ...)
B.) it also could be a reaction to president donald trump's tariffs which he plans to impose on many, many coutries which will reduce the world trade. trump calls it reciprocal tariffs (and means retributive justice?). you know what? if you asked me, he mixes up tariffs with trade deficits as the most countries from his board do not impose such tariffs on u.s. goods & services (e.g. serbia does not have 74% tariffs on u.s. products, but it has 74% trade surplus with usa 😇)

just in case you asked yourself in what kind of business i will invest in my next life, it will be technology stocks like google, amazon, nvidia, facebook, sap, oracle, microsoft, .... or i will invest my time, money and energy in s.th. more related to 'save the nature' + people + family + relationships 💕

when will fiat (paper) money crash?

of course, the whole western world is already bankrupt but it still can afford to bomb iraq, afghanistan, libya ... and subsidy nuclear energy + banks + bionergy + many other planet destroying stuff ;-(. folks, lets stop it ASAP!

wanna see how bankrupt e.g. the USA is? just see the u.s. budget compared to a household budget below ...

=> the usa is bankrupt, no doubts ... but when will the system collapse? it seems to be a difficult question, but it isnt. many complicated looking things have an easy solution if we concentrate on the essentials, believe me ;-)

1st im gonna tell ya few don'ts:
  • dont follow the political comedy surrounding fiat money
  • dont try 2 remember the phony names and volume numbers of alll these 'rescue packages' out there
  • dont care abt the ratings by moody's, S&P, fitch, ...
  • dont waste own time with reading / researching / writing abt paper money issues (you should prolly stop reading here and start doing the right stuff, shouldn't you? lol)
  • dont waste other people's time speaking / writing abt paper money issues
  • dont keep any serious money in your bank account(s)
  • etc

2nd the stuff we definitely should do:
  • wear our fastest sneakers and run to the nearest ATM / bank / insurance in order 2 withdraw as much money as possible
  • buy real stuff (gold, silver, real estate, food, ...)
  • fire paper money as we germans did in 1923
  • throw paper money away as hungarians did in 1946
  • change the current politics via #OccupyWallStreet + #unitedforglobalchange or some other public movement
  • sleep well cos we knew we did the right things
  • etc

EASY, u see?

whats the good thing abt this ongoing (!) change of the collective consciousness regarding fiat money? well, in order to change the currrent fraudulent paper money system we dont need 2 'convert' all folks out there ... a so called criticall mass is enough .... thx goodness :-)

ready? steady? GO! go gold bugs go! ... and silver bugs as well :-)

go for the real things in life (not only in the financial markets)

investor nightmare

sh*t! ... red all over the screen :-(

world markets ...

my trading account ... im not gonna show ya my investment account in order 2 spare your tears :-)

just 1 last note, this is not a nightmare .. its real, thats the markets right now ... damned hell! the ugly 2008 crash came back ... my stocks prolly 30% down since january despite the still sooo high gold/silver/copper/etc prices ... (gold $1,518 per ounce) ...

what a coincidence of destiny: 2days quotation recieved: Misery generates hate. ~ Charlotte Bronte (1816-1855)

anyway, i like an another quotation more: For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness ~ unknown (ie im 2 lazy 2 google the web 4 the author)

silver -11.24% right now :-(((

OMG, OMG, OMG!

folks, ive made some €uros in my mini trading account by going long & short & short SILVER right now .... exactly 222.69 €uros at the current usd/eur rate ... but im quite sure i will lose many thousands of €uros in my investing account tomorrow, because it is full of mining shares, especially junior mining shares

its so strange, we just had an all-time-high in gold $1,576 per ounce few minutes ago and a high-high-high silver price of $48 or $49 and now it is going to be such a mess for junior gold/silver producers & explorers and their investors

well, mr. market can be soooo cruel
OMG again!

go commodities go!

financial markets? paper game casino! (DJIA -9% within few minutes!)

just 3 monkeys? LOL (source: jessescrossroadscafe.blogspot.com)

its just crazy, isnt it? DJIA -9% intraday, than closed at -3% and gold is up like crazy  ... hmmm, is the end of the financial ponzi scheme of paper currencies coming closer and closer and closer to its end? well, we will see it soon

the prices of wheat, corn, oil, gas, etc are falling down like if there were no need 4 food + commodities 2morrow => ???

... just gold is up ... hell, if there would be more money on my margin account i would go much much more LONG COMMODITIES ... well, the current financial markets are IMHO to a degree of 90% just a paper casino without any relation 2 real value out there ... just imagine, one of the biggest companies on earth, procter & gamble (its all abt GAMBLING, u see?) with current market capitalization of $176,45 billion was down 40% intraday [folks, thats more than 72 billion usd!] due 2 one citibank's trader's error ~ he prolly inserted sell 16b instead of 16m ~ it was a selling of billions instead of millions ~ btw, that guy will become famous soon ... still remember the at that time 28 years old nick leeson who has broken the 100+ years old english barings bank (UK's oldest investment bank) few years ago? and what abt jérôme kerviel (societe generale) or abt the LTCM or amaranth defaults? well, procter & gamble closed later without any major change as the 4th best stock in DJIA at -2.27% (the best stock today was down -1.6%)

hell, we are freaking doomed! lets dump paper money ASAP and lets install a relationship between money and real value again!! welcome, gold & silver backed currency ...

as always,
just my 2 golden cents

btw, got enough gold + silver already?

folks, there was such a great discussion on the InformedTrades website abt this topic, pls feel free 2 read the comments or even better participate there :-)

armageddon 4 commodity bugs ;o(

ugly days, ugly guys!
hell, the 1st crashy day for commodities this year, let's call that armageddon 4 commodity bugs ;o(
well, there were many of them last year (approx 10 days, i think), read abt one of these ugly days here ...

what's my idea 4 this blog post? hmmm, i'm going to count these nasty money losing days in 2010, so in december there will be some number out there :-). of course, it will be subjective and maybe i will also miss few of them (esp. when on holidays!), but i think it will help me 2 track + understand the markets, so what?

well, i plan to update that blog post regularly and maybe even post few comments later abt some specific issues on some of the crashy days like 2day, ok?

btw, i believe that we are in a early phase of hyper-inflationary rally, so my portfolio is gold + silver + commodities + these sectors' stocks long only, of course :-)

few of 2day's 'highlights' :o(
  • my portfolio -3.06%
  • corn -7.10%
  • wheat -7.63%
  • gold -2.11%
  • silver -2.36%
  • oil (wti) -2.41%
  • lead 5.53%
  • zinc -3.94%
  • DJIA -0.34%
  • nasdaq -1.30%
  • ...
  • btw, yesterday was orange juice -11%. crazy, isn't it? well, the most commodities rallied the last few weeks, that's prolly the overreaction into the another direction :-). do you still remember our homo sapiens financialis?
hell, is the world going 2 break apart? let's check the news, if any, which could cause such a downturn ,,,,

armageddon #2, 01/20/2010: yesterday an all-time-high, 2day the 2nd armageddon! well, we never know what's next! hell, maybe that's also one of the reasons why i like the financial markets so much, isn't it? it would be boring if everything was easy

silver and lead -5%, gold -2.5%, agriculture approx -2%, oil -2.5% .... the most of my stocks are down 3% - 8%, my daily 'performance' is -2.91% ... prolly just thx 2 my biggest single position scorpio mining, which is +0.0% today. well, my guess which i have posted few days ago that the most stupid folks sold their scorpio shares soooo cheap already is prolly true, as there was not much volume 2day ...

any cold comfort? yep! i could move the next company from my gold bugs fair watch list into my portfolio as the soooo low limit was hit today - welcome, moly mines (australia ~ molybdenum, copper, iron ore), welcome!

armageddon #3, 01/21/2010: no comments
armageddon #4, 01/26/2010: silver -4%
armageddon #5, 01/27/2010: silver -2.5%, natural gas -3.5%, zinc -5.07% ... all exchange traded commodities despite orange juice (+1.5%) are down, down, down ... so is my portfolio

.... folks, i think i have to stop that 'counter' as there are too many armageddons out there ... or find a new definition for my pain facing all that losses

armageddon #6, 02/04/2010: commodities collapsed on a much stronger usd (e.g. +1.37% against its paper buddy eur):silver -6.66%; gold -3.92%, DJIA -2.61%, my portfolio -3.70%,wti oil -5.53%, .copper -3.18%, ... many of my gold/silver companies (even the industry leaders) are down between 5% (barrick gold) and 12% (hecla miniong), it's just crazy :o(

btw, if i would have any money now, i would BUY all that fallen angels like 1st majestic silver, impact silver, hecla mining, orko silver etc. ... well, i've bought cardero resource corp. + oroco resource corp quite cheap in the last 2 days (btw, i could get cardero 5% cheaper) as i had some remaining money at my trading account and couldn't believe why do the folks sell cardero much, much, much cheaper than their recently received cash reserves and why do the folks sell oroco @ CAD 0.22 when the insiders/managers paid CAD 0.25 two weeks ago => ???

what is worse than stock market crash? shopping with children!

oh, my dear! i just wanted to look what types of 13" notebooks are currently in the shop shelves and as we were with wife + children out for lunch in a nearby bavarian restaurant, my daughters came with me ...

well, we got 2 dvd games, 1 camera, 1 flight to new york (sony promotion gift), 5 years extra guarantee on some stupid thing, camera storage chip, car wash, ... of course i've got NO NOTEBOOK and much worse, both children 'need' (new) notebooks as well ... hell, they just want to, isn't it? ... at least there is still s.th. useful as a potential xmas gift left ...

thx goodness, my wife was not with us because she went to the city center ('down town'?) instead ... i tell you, 2 small sweet devils are more then enough for a chap like me ... well, let's hope my wife didn't spent a fortune as well

i just wanna the yesterday's financial markets CRASH (stocks, gold+silver intraday, commodities, €uro, ...) INSTEAD of all these crazy wife + children expenses ... why? it just cost a one-time-tuition-fee of 1,010.93 EUR and nothing more!!!

is there still any hope for me out there? or at least one really hot place in hell otherwise? LOL

next crash(y) monday + short-squeeze @ volkswagen

folks, it's unbelievable. it's the next crashy october monday, already the 3rd!!! but not for volkswagen :o). almost everything went down: nikkei -6%; dax -4% => look at the top dax sub-window, here is the second BEST (!) stock losing more than 7% in the early morning; silver -6%; gold -3%, just VW didn't! the poor VW-short-sellers :o(. after 5 lucky days for them such a mess today (esp. a 70% gap up!)

volkswagen (VW) was back on planet earth last week ... and is in the stock heaven again :o)) => update on last week's post:
as the stock markets stabilized a little and there are not many margin calls in the books of speculators like me (or some heavily capitalized hedge funds :-), these evil guys can hold and increase their VW shorts and bring its share price back to a more realistic level – in the last few days lost VW about 50% of its (over-)value as its share price fell from 430 to 210 €uros .... yesterday porsche announced that it will increase its share @ VW and today started VW with a 70% gap up and rose more than 200% to €635. closing price was 520 euros, a daily gain of 146.62%. next day (28.10.2008) the same game => VW rose in less than a hour from €471 to €1,005 and closed @ 945 euros, which is 81.73% more than yesterday. its market capitalization? 277.83 billion euros, it is the most 'valuable' company now ... that's a short-squeeze, isn't it?

the possible reasons for that crashy overall market developments? see my older blogpost.

2008 (+ 2009 + ?) financial crisis explained in plain english ... OR my observations from today's TRADING ORGY :-)

folks, it's unbelievable, i do know all the reasons why this crazy 2008 financial crisis (not just 'subprime') happened! it is not just because of the no#1 reason and a necessary precondition of this mess which is greenspan's and bernanke's printing press which had printed soooooo many dollars [money supply M3] out of thin air for sooooo long :o))

today was a holiday in germany and thus i could sit in front of moving price charts the whole day and trade. we could also say gamble ... well, the rational part of my soul told me not to trade as there is not enough capital on my account and a smallest price decrease in my current positions would mean a margin call and a deadly end of my account. but the small devil living inside my crazy, greedy, dishonest, corrupt, stupid, incompetent, addicted and forever lost soul told me: "trade jaro, trade! you will definitely win few bucks and move your account into a more stable area". so i did!

my capital in the early morning: 356 €uros
my today's low: 282 euros
my today's high: 440 euros
my object of lustfulness today: dow jones index (DJIA)
my number of trades: 12
my trading result: 2.17 euros ... thank goodness! it could also be a loss of few hundred €uros instead :-)
last but not least, amount of money (or just 'liquidity' ?) moved on the market: 12 x 10,600 = 127,200.00 usd ... folks, please do NOT think about the 'stability' of nowadays financial system! it is crazy! consider that i had just 300 €uros of 'securities' in place :o((. do NOT think about things they WILL happen if the greedy banks would act like me - i'm sure they already do!

damned hell! did you think about OVERLEVERAGE? or about all these lehmans, merills, bears, AIGs, freddies, fannies + their small dirty european buddies northern rock, ubs, fortis, ikb, hypo real, bayern lb? jaro, you must be kidding! how can we remember all these funny names? pls repeat them slowly again, thx! ok fellows, here we go: AIG, Bayern LB, Bear Stearns, Dexia, Dresdner Bank, Fannie Mae, Fortis, Freddie Mac, HBOS, HSH Nordbank, Hypo Real Estate, HypoVereinsbank, IKB, Indymac, KfW, LBBW, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, RBS, Morgan Stanley, Northern Rock, Sachsen LB, Société Génerale, Wachovia, Washington Mutual, WestLB (as of 10/05/2008. thx 2 http://gburek.eu/)! pls note that banks [citibank, deutsche bank, ubs (they've written off about 40 billion euros!), commerzbank, ...] which have had just some 'small' difficulties in the past are NOT listed above! well, they've got what they deserve! by taking soooo much risks and having so few securities! what about the remaining crazy, greedy, dishonest, corrupt, stupid, incompetent + LYING BANKS out there? pls don't ask me to comment on crazy, greedy, dishonest, corrupt, stupid, incompetent + LYING GOVERNMENTS, ok?

the question of the day: what is the difference between me and these crazy, greedy, dishonest, corrupt, stupid, incompetent, lying + guilty overleveraged banks? it's so easy! i do risk just my own money and i take the responsibility for my behaviour in good and in bad times. folks, there is not 1 taxpayer's penny being lost through my trades, no bailout by u.s. treasury happened, no fresh dollars from bernanke's helicopter arrived ('helicopter ben'), ....

folks, please, please, please, do NOT hope for a perfect world! protect yourself instead !!! pls note the use of 3 (=three) exclamation marks, it should show u that the issue is somehow important! [the audience:] thx, but how could we protect ourselves + our families? just ask and answer 1 simple question to yourself (and act accordingly to your personal situation after that): DO I HAVE ENOUGH GOLD + SILVER ALREADY?

btw, are HUGE bailouts solution for financial crises? or what is the solution to solve this particular crisis? it's also easy! let the greedy banks take the responsibility for their own behaviour, let them go bankrupt if they deserve it, but do not allow to pay all taxpayers for failure of few! do not allow to give the money of competent people (profitable businesses + individuals) into the hands of incompetent people (zombie banks) as it would invers the real benefits of our (competitive) capitalist system! do not produce inflation by printing additional dollars out of thin air as you would probably not add oil to a fire in order to extinguish it. wow, thx ... + what should be done concretely?

A.) first of all we would need sound financial + economical policies which would allow entrepreneurship, competition, bankruptcies, failure, start-up companies + free markets instead of government controls, prohibition (e.g. shortselling, price controls etc.), bailouts, printing press, inflation, market & industry manipulation, ....

B.) then we would need to build wealth based on work and savings (instead of borrowing and spending) like in the good old days + like the austrian school of economics (von mises, hayek, menger, ...) tells us: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austrian_Business_Cycle_Theory

C.) yes, i do believe that a gold standard would help a lot to achieve this kind of wealth and prosperity. in my opinion would a gold standard also avoid such stupid and senseless 'investments' like the u.s. wars on iraq, iran, afghanistan, kosovo, vietnam, venezuela, cuba, terror, democracy inside western democracies, free markets, u.s. + european taxpayer, freedom, ???, ... IMHO would even the world become a better place. why? there would simply be no money for this kind of wars & malinvestments. that does not mean that there would be no wars at all as there have been many wars + a lot of destruction also in ancient time under a gold standard, but a war was usually over when the kings had no gold/silver to pay their soldiers :-)

poll: is it already too late for all these measures? YES / NO ??? i'm not sure, i hope not, but i'm realy not sure, i'm so pesimistic about that :-((.
why? well, we see just bailouts + socialisation of losses + government interventions & regulations + an unbelievable increase in money supply all over the world instead of free markets. is there any hope for improvement? yes, in november will the new u.s. president [11/04/2008: barack hussein obama => who are the strong powers behind him? the kennedy-clan + george soros + zbigniew brzezinski + ??? is it good or bad for the world? the time will show it :o)] most likely correct few of bush's mistakes and maybe even end the wars on iraq, afghanistan, terror ... and reduce budget deficits ... and so on ... that could help a little! but he has to speed up a lot before the winter comes, the kondratieff winter :o((

(enhanced about a week later just for the case you've thought this crisis cannot become worse. it could and it also did: /2008/10/how-bad-is-current-financial-mess.html)

december, 1st ... the crisis is far from over! watch + listen to meridith whitney (oppenheimer & co.):

btw, what is the song of the crash(y) year 2008? hmmmm :o) ... and the winner is ... is ... is the dream team ... bush & bernanke!

reason why + strategy: trying to trade the HUGE moves in DJIA which i've expected because of the planned voting of u.s. congress on the HUUUUGE bailout ($700 billion) of financial institutions
lessons learned: nice trade; clever and FAST placement of initial stop-loss-limit as the DJIA moved so fast in one direction; nice stop-loss-limit later on to secure the profit => OK

... to do ... document the next 10 trades ... oh, my god! i can't start my trading platform just now (=saturday, 10/04/2008) to look-up the trading data! there is no customer hotline @cmc-markets today! there is no one who could initialize my 'entry code' to start the log-in process with the server defaults! ... f*cking hell :o)) . well, i've installed the software again, so i can continue writing now :-)

lessons learned: a small mistake; i had already 1 long position; i thought that after break-out through the 10,600 level there will be a huuuuge move up; it was a false break this time; i was not FAST enough to place new stop levels for my two positions [remember: there is a minimum spread to current price needed (about 10 points?) and in a fast moving market is it not easy to place an appropriate stop limit ... => idea of the day: i will try not to put a stop-limit immediately in my trading platform but just watch the quotes and sell 'market' when my emotional / theoretical stop-loss-level (about 20 points?) will be reached ... i have to think about that 'strategy' a little bit longer and maybe try it in the market clutter. and i still can place a stop-order in my trading platform when the price moves to a comfortable area to secure my fictitious profits] => let's think about this emotional stop-loss-strategy @entry some time longer :-)

lessons learned: nice trade; FAST placement of initial stop-loss-limit; the DJIA didn't want to move muuuuch higher this time. after so many trades i was really tired (it was already late afternoon in germany) and then i decided not to trade any longer and went to gym. furthermore i didn't expect any big (= tradable) price move anymore. (the price reached 10,801 later on :). folks, i couldn't believe my eyes when i came back from gym! DJIA @10,325 points? => long live the stop-loss-limit-strategy ;-))

resume:
few bucks for me; some more for my broker (12 x 4 usd spread = 48 usd); some liquidity for the markets; and a great experience ...

crazy monday! in my opinion was mr. crash out there TODAY (the final sell-off?) and the markets could start their slow recovery tomorrow :o))

oh, my god! what's a day on the financial markets today!

after the announced bailout for financial institutions on the weekend (volume $700 billion) reacted the markets like crazy. they liked that huge bailout. gold + silver fell sharply, in that time have been the european stock markets in low negative numbers (max. for small cap stocks -3%), usd rose against eur like if there were no dollars tomorrow (+1.44%) ... but why? supply of dollars was increased significantly AND the dollar didn't fell like a stone from the currency heaven? ... unfortunately, in the short term are the fundamentals meaningless :-)). that's trading, that's life! btw, all commodities were hit hardly: oil -5%, corn -6%, silver -3%, lead -7%., ... why?

in the late market hours decided the u.s. congress not to accept the proposed bailout solution and then was mr. crash out there: DJIA fell more than 500 points (from nearly 11.000 to 10.397), all other indices didn't wait too long and started their own crash! the dow fell 777 points – its worse day ever! for the S&P, it was the worse day since ’87 => DJIA -6.98%, S&P500 -8.79%, nasdaq100 -10.52%,). all of them 'led' by financial institutions (wachovia -81.8%, sovereign bancorp -72.16%, national city corp -63.34%, fifth third bancorp -43.63%, ... and there was just 1 (= ONE) company in S&P500 with positive result: Campbell Soup Co. +0.32% btw, are u hungry? what's about a soup?)

what about my own trading? i had 2 limit orders in the market and bought the german technology index at 699 euros (at that time about -3%), toronto60 @ 699.9 cad. later i've decided to buy silver @ 13.04 after i could recognize that the sell-off in gold + silver probably) ended as there was a strong price increase. after dinner in the city with a former colleague of mine i couldn't believe my eyes: all these red colors and double digit losses ...

my trading account lost 'just' 150 euros, than i started to trade the late recovery of DJIA and won about 150 euros :-). after that i continued to trade DJIA and lost about 60 euros. i will post all the details about my 20 trades tomorrow, PROMISED :o)
