all-time-high in SILVER + gold + copper price TODAY

the current inflationary cycle speeds up, my dears. why? there is the next all-time-high in gold + SILVER + copper price and in my stock market portfolio today. okay, that are just nominal all-time highs in USD, not inflation adjusted or relative all-time-highs against some other tangible asset like gold / bread / average wages or the like. but the 'nominal only' view is the way how most people look at prices of everything, isnt it? whats the danger in this approach? you now the price of everything and the value of nothing, isnt it? 😇

i've started this blog post this morning abt SILVER. later came also the price of GOLD above its october 2025 record mark and COPPER is now already higher than its all-time-high from last friday, so lets enhance it with my rant abt gold, copper and INFLATION, too. you probabaly shoudnt allow me to touch on inflation as i could get angry like a devil 👺 in heaven, my dears! well, i didn't look-up zinc, nickel, lead, molybdenum, platinum, palladium, rare earths, lithium and other metals yet ... anyway, i 💖Ag, Au, Cu. why? there are two possible reasons. A) my last name is 'gruber' which indicates my ancestors worked in the underground mines (= 'grube' in german) in the german settled slovak ore mountains. B) my stock market portfolio is still heavily commodities-oriented (maybe 80%), although i've increased or bought new positions in many of the so popular american technology + big data + SW + bitchcoin + AI stocks recently (google, oracle, adobe, nvidia, broadcom, arista, cisco, HP, dell, amazon, open, nebius, qualcomm, micro strategy + iren (both bitcoin BTC), quantum computing, AT&T, poet, IONQ, intel, meta, tesla ... + increased the german software company SAP, too.

back to silver: the former all time high in SILVER before 2025 was the hunt brothers' short-squeeze intraday spike of $50 in january 1980. in 2011 came the price close to this 'magical treshold' to approx $48. this year started the silver price at $28.97 and moved in the range from $28.29 to $69.45 till now, thus there were many all-time-highs down the road recently, you know?

the 2025 ranges for my 3 favorite investment metals till dec, 22th:

  • Ag, silver, $28.29 - 69.45 USD per troy ounce (@comex)
  • Au, gold, $2,595.90 - 4,447.82 USD per troy ounce (@comex)
  • Cu, copper, $9,524.67 - 11.940 USD per metric ton (@LME, intraday 'cash'). you will find also charts and tables with Cu prices per day closing / monthly average or futures with different runtimes. the most relevant 3 months copper future at LME quoted at $11.925 today. there are copper prices at comex too, but in USD per pound. the price range in 2025 was from $4.24 to $5.96 (intraday high in july 2025). therefore be carefull what values are you going to compare on the internet / AI or better look just at the order of magnitude than at the last decimal digit of your particular quote 😇

what abt inflation? lets measure prices by both, gold + the official american CPI (consumer price index) provided by the u.s. government. the real inflation at shop counters is much higher, isnt it?

addendum january 16th, 2026: lets put the silver price increase in december 2025 + january 2026 in a historic perspective, okay? the year 2025 started with silver price below $30. in november 2025 it was still below $50. what happened next? till mid january the price went up to unbelievable $93.71 ... why?
hypothesis#1: it was and still is most likely a short squeeze, if you asked me. what does it mean? well, few folks have speculated on falling silver price and hold huge uncovered short positions, probably silver futures on the commodities exchange comex in NY. as the silver price continues to go up and their losses get bigger and bigger, they have to close their shorts aka BUY SILVER at these high prices. this catapults the price of silver even higher and on top also faster. even if the comex could easily change the delivery of physical silver for its 'paper silver' futures to cash settlements (as there is probably not enough physical silver in comex' vaults), already the high price itself causes these speculators massive difficulties.
hypothesis#2: it is just a fat cats speculation game. these fat guys and their automated trading systems buy like crazy as long as the price goes up and sell like crazy when the price goes down. how else is it possible that the price of silver crashed more than 30% in a single day? just see for details my updeäate aka addendum for january 30th, will you?
there are videos / stories on the internet abt silver prices at the shanghai metals exchange to reach a $7 premium per ounce compared to comex, because the shanghai exchange trades mostly metal for delivery vs. NY trades mostly paper silver (futures). i did not check this 'arbitrage opportunity' by myself (i'm sure the automated trading systems of the huge hedge fonds did already), so just take or leave this information as some additional possible variable in the big silver game, will u? 🤣
is silver at $90 still undervalued or already much too expensive? most likely ways too expensive. nevertheless im quite sure we will see the $100 silver soon. why is silver already too expensive? because many, many primary silver producers reported in their last earning reports in Q3/2025 all-in-sustaining-costs (AISC) of $20 - $25 per 1 troy ounce Ag. of course, it does not mean, that the price can not go any higher .... but usually it does not stay long time at these high levels, does it? anyway, even if i've told ya the $50 in the hunt broters era was not a real physical market price, but only a very short paper market escapade, lets compare it to the similarly overvalued $850 per 1 oz gold in that period (january 1980). btw, it took 28 years till january 2008 for gold to reach that highly overvalued mark of $850 again ... just see the chart below

gold 01/1980 = $850. gold 01/2026 = $4,600 => increase by Au-factor 5.41
silver 01/1980 = $50. silver 01/2026 = $93 => increase by Ag-factor 1.86. should i try to adjust the silver price needed to match the increase in gold since 1980? do you feel better if you multiply it by yourself? however, lets try it here, too => $50 x factor 5.41 = $270.5 => heaven & hell, better lets stop any further price speculations now, will we? 😇🕖💵

#2 CPI adjusted prices ~ CPI = consumer price index ... remember, the hunt brothers' peak of $50 in january 1980 (equals $208 in 11/2025) was just a rigged paper market value for very short time. you could buy silver at $35 easily back then in 1980, which equals $146 in 11/2025.

folks, you can use the u.s. CPI calculator provided (aka
manipulated?) by the u.s. government alone, cant you?

#3 the gold-silver-ratio (provided by longtremtrends.com) used to be between 25 and 100. right now it equals 64.6 (gold $4437.11 vs. silver $68.68). heaven & hell! silver is still quite cheap compared to gold in historic measures, isnt it? lets wait with switching from silver to gold till this ratio moves significant below 50, will we?

#4 when in munich, we have the gold-oktoberfest_beer-ratio 🍺 ... oh my dears, 186 of the badly filled 1 liter mugs oktoberfest-beer for just 1 ounce of gold? it is close to the record of 227 mugs from 1980. it will probably become even more in a  year or two. why? both, the global problems in the world and the global debt levels are much worse than in 1980. my best financial advice to you? DO NOT DRINK that much beer @oktoberfest even if you could afford it 😆

#5 when not in munich, take the gold-iphone-ratio 📱 instead. in 2013 yo've needed more than 1 oz gold to buy the newest iphone, in 2025 were 0.42 oz gold enough ...

#8 top silver producers in 2023, Q1 2025 and Q2 2025.

2023 by size and geographical location ~
data source by alan kennedy / voronoi app
source miningvisuals.com. here are details for top silver
producerrs in Q2/2025 (includes the swedish boliden)

i've bought few shares in the companies i've had no postions yet in the last 2 weeks: fresnillo, southern copper, buenaventura, zijin + boliden. i've also bought 2 small tranches in glencore + the polish copper miner KGHM at my major broker account @lynx (=branch of IB) in order to see their progress as well (i have these 2 companies in my old stock portfolio at a bank with extremely high trading fees. thus i do not look up the developments there as that portfolio is more or less on a maintenance modus without any trading movements).
the #7 MAG silver does not exist any more as it was taken over by pan american silver (PAAS) in september 2025. it was not possible for me to buy shares in san cristobal mines (a private company), volcan (there are some clearing issues at the madrid exchange, so you can just sell existing shares there and you have to buy volcan directly in peru). my trial to buy #4 hindustan zinc in india was a disaster and a nice learning experience at the same time. i've applied for access to all asian markets at my broker just to learn, that only indian citizens are allowed to buy shares listed at indian exchanges. crazy, isnt it? well, at least india cannot steal money of foreign citizens / investors like the usa, switzerland + EU regularly do (e.g. russian + venezulean assets recently). well, the price of hindustan zinc moved up like crazy in the last few weeks, so i'm not sure it would be smart to buy it right now, anyway ...

#9 all my top portfolio holdings are Cu, Ag, Au based mining companies, you see?
top down: amerigo resources (Cu), hudbay minerals (Cu), first majestic silver (Ag), agnico eagle mines (Au), hecla mining (Ag), coeur d'alene mines (Ag+Au), endeavour silver (Ag), wheaton precious metals (Au+Ag), avino silver mines (Ag), pan american silver (Ag+Au), discovery silver (Ag), globex mining (explorer with many very small projects for many different metals in canada).

#10 what were my top movers on a record day like today?

#11 probably a suprise for few of my dear readers. NO, it is not gold, silver, copper which rise in price or value. it is the other way round: the value of all major currencies is going down => stop measure the value of anything in dollars, euros, yens, swiss francs or the like. start to evaluate in real tangible assets or timeless values ... most suitable measurement for financial assets is gold, isnt it? for emotional assets & values of course s.th. completely different. lets hope i'll discover that one soon, too 😆💕🍀

in case of money, what does all these lines + columns with numbers and letters below created by google's gemini AI today mean? every major currency loses its buying power against gold and silver aproximately 11% per year!!! even the "stable currency" swiss franc loses 9% per year, which mean it is like a train which does not drive into the final disaster that fast as the remaining valuta(s). so please do not tell me again dollar, yen, swiss franc is strong and euro is weak or vice versa, will you? all of them (USD, CAD, YEN, GBP, CHF, ...) just fell apart at different speed😉

addendum december 23th, 2025: all 3 metals Ag, Au + Cu are even a little bit higher then yesterday. of course, as long as the trend up is intact, there have been and there will be many, many new all-time-highs out there in the future, wont they?
december 24th, 2025: in the asian markets climbed Au+Ag up the ladder further. Cu starts at LME+comex later in the morning ...
... silver went above $83 intraday in the asian markets later in december, then crashed -8% on december, 29th. at least it stayed above $70 till end of the year ... gold didnt move that much the last few trading days and closed the year above $4,300 per ounce.

lets add few imho interesting charts / snapshots from the overcrowded lecture at the pro aurum shop in munich presented by its managing executive jürgen birner on january, 17th, 2026:
the proaurum shop in münchen-riem has a form of a gold bar.

folks, i've promissed i'll update the final Au, Ag, Cu price ranges 2025. here we go 😇
source: google gemini AI [at some websites were the prices higher. so does www.onvista.de report silver at $71.58 before midnight and $72.16 in the 15 minutes time span after midnight on january 2nd (there were no regular commodity markets open on january 1st). of course, onvista reports time zone rolling prices like from the shanghai exchange when u.s. markets are closed and probably also OTC (= over the counter) markets, when the regular exchanges NYSE / COMEX / xetra (germany) / LME etc. are closed)]
here we go, this table was created by google's gemini AI on january 3rd, 2026:

december 31th, 2025 the last price + yearly increase as text as well:
Au $4,325.60 per 1oz @comex => +64%
Ag $70.13 per 1oz @comex => +142%
Cu $12,558.50 per ton @LME => +40%

january 29th, 2026: all 3 metals Ag, Au, Cu reached INTRADAY their new all-time-highs. lets compute their increase in % in just 1 month as well:
Au $5,608.35 => +29,7%
Ag $121.62 => +73,4%
Cu $14,527.50 => +15,7%
... later fell Au, Ag some 2% or 3%

january 30th, 2026 (= friday = last trading day in january): all 3 metals Ag, Au, Cu crashed badly. palladium + platinum + mining stocks ditto. intraday were the losses even higher. especially the crazy silver was at times more than 30% down. last price + final loss in %:
Au $4,877.06 => -9,60%
Ag $84.00 => -27.93%
Cu $13,157.50 => -3.38%
------------------------------------
Pa $1,751.88 => -11,97%
Pt  $2,223.38 => -15,28%
HUI 781.28 points => -12.58%

any lessons learned? the markets are in the short term driven mostly by speculation, arent they? lets finish this blog with advice by legendary investor warren buffet, who at age of 95 steps down as a chairman of his holding bekshire hathaway:

silver conference in traditional hotel platzl, munich + trump driven market crash :o)

there was a looong and quite interesting silvercon aka silver conference aka roadshow of 6 junior mining and/or exploration companies in munich today.

6 companies => 3 hours => tasty lunch => back to my office to finish some stuff today ...  well, 6 companies a 30 minutes without any real break are too much for 1 day ...

avino silver's CEO david wolfin presents his company at hotel platzl, munich

it was like a deja vu experience for me as i've stopped to join this kind of conferences / road shows few years ago, well before the corona plandemic in 2020 ... why? easy! i've generally lost money when i've invested in this kind of small caps. they usually make roadshows / investors' lunch / investrors' presentations in order to collect money for the next round of financing as they usually issue new shares in order to continue drilling & operating in general sence ...
why did i attend this time? there was 1 company (avino silver) which i like and the show was in the well known hotel platzl in the very center of munich, where i've never been in before. to be honest, i didnt like the hotel at all: not nice from outside, not nice and not any special from inside, no nice views out of the windows ... you name it 😄

after all that cons, lets try to find few pros here:
  • the food / lunch was delicious
  • the conference room was fine and even somehow nice
  • they've had a shoe polish machine 💕in the corridor in their conference area
the traditional hotel platzl, munich
historical views at silver one's project candelaria, nevada, usa

who was here today?
  • avino silver (TSX: ASM, NYSE: ASM) ~ it looks quite good for the company. they have opened a new silver mine in mexico in Q4/2024 and thus increased their production + cash flow + profit + share price as well. i've already few shares and i've bought few more at approx 2.35 CAD, so i'm happy to see that my company is doing well
  • silver storm mining (TSXV: SVRS) ~ they try to re-open the former 1st majestic silver's (TSX: A, NYSE: AG) la parilla mine in the state of durango, mexico. btw, 1st majestic is the single biggest shareholder of silver storm today => i've bought few shares at 0.135 CAD incl. broker's fee in order to watch the company's development in my portfolio ... addendum august 2025: silver storm accuired till capital (TSXV: TIL) on july, 18th, which itself swallowed few of my almost bankrupt mining companies in difficult market conditions (= most often the time periods when the metal prices are low). till capital periodically bought, sold, or held royalty interests and provided capital to mineral exploration companies, you know? thus my new average price for silver storm mining jumped up to 0.55 CAD. well, thats how the junior mining investments look like quite often. at least were these till acquisitions not completely worthless and SVRS with the newly acquired till properties could outplay my losses in the future 😑 ~ addendum 19/2025: i've bought few more SVRS shares at CAD 0.26 after i've spoke to the SVRS guys at the munich precious metals fair in october 2025 and thus reduced my average share price to CAD 0.489
  • alta copper (TSX: ATCU) ~ copper project in peru. i have few shares of alta copper already, which i've got after a chain of bankrcupcies / take-overs / M&A ... e.g. copper fox ... my average acquisition price is 2.80 CAD and the stock trades at 0.44 CAD today. that means i've lost 84% of the money invested and also lost the opportunity to invest that money smarter for many years. that is what i ment above telling ya i've lost that much money with junior mining aka roadshow companies before => anyway, i have bought few cheap shares of alta copper at 0.43 CAD few days after this road show and a month or two later even few more, thus i've reduced my average price from 2.80 to 0.59 CAD. let's hope it makes sense🍀~ addendum december 15th, 2025: today was alta copper overtaken by the australian mining and clean energy company fortescue ltd. (ASX: FMG) for an all-cash settlement at very favorable CAD 1.40 per alta share. there should be some approval at the alta shareholder meeting in january and some more time needed till this operation takes place, thus i've sold all 3,000 shares of alta at CAD 1.37 today with an overall profit of CAD 2,288 which is 1,414 EUR and 128% at capital invested before the 28% tax. profit on my new alta investments since april is logically even much higher. not bad for an investor lunch, is it? as fortescue seems to make nice profits + pays abt 6% in dividends, i've bought few shares of fortescue in australia and will observe its development in the next months & years.
many other companies did even worse than that or are already bankrupt today. unfortunately even 5 - 7 of my really big positions, especially silver + gold miners (not explorers!) like great panther silver + alexco mining + andover mining + americas gold and silver (former scorpio mining) + scorpio gold + jaguar mining + first mining gold + world copper + sterling mining + minco silver + ....
thanks goodness, there are also 4 companies which did really fine and they probably overweight the many brutal losses. it is 1) amerigo resources (copper + molybdenum in chile), 2) wheaton precious metals (former silver wheaton, a royalty company in the precious metals business), 3) hudbay minerals (copper in canada + peru + usa + australia (?). btw, i didnt invest in hudbay directly. i was shareholder of altona mining, which was taken over by copper mountain, which itself was taken over by hudbay) and 4) agnico eagle mines (gold in canada. btw, Ag silver + Ni nickel + Co cobalt = AGNICO, got it? 😄 well, i've got my biggest share blocks of agnico by its takeover of osisko mining in 2014 and of kirkland lake gold in 2022. few more shares also via detour gold, which was taken over by kirkland in 2020. i've owned also few shares of agnico directly, but by far not that many as via its osisko + kirkland acquisitions)
  • u.s. gold (NASDAQ: USAU) ~ no! it is not the former rob mcewen's company ... why not? rob mcewen changed the name to mcewen mining and dropped the old u.s. gold company name and the old website, so luke norman & his team took opportunity to grab it ... u.s. gold is an explorer / producer with gold / copper / silver projects in wyoming, idaho and nevada, usa ~ i've grabbed few shares at 9.23 USD incl. broker's fee
  • tocvan ventures (CSE: TOC, OTCQB: TCVNF, FSE: TV3) ~ a really really small silver explorer in the state of sonora, mexico. the share price looks much too high right now maybe as a result of the current roadshow, so i've placed a very low limit order for this stock. if it comes a little bit down i will probably increase my limit and buy it, even if there is almost no trading volume at all ... and most of the trading is done in germany, which is really strange for a canadian company ... it looks like if the company survives just thanks to its promotion to german investors ...~ my limit order at 0.60 CAD was fullfilled in june
  • silver one (TSXV: SVE) ~ a small silver explorer with projects in nevada, usa. luke norman is also here on the board, whatever that means ... let's put very few shares at 0.221 CAD incl. broker's fee in my portfolio ~ addendum december 18th, 2025: i've increased my positions at CAD 0.385 during the munich precious metals fair in october 2025. well, today i could sell half of my SVE position for CAD 0.59, so my remaining position of this junior-junior silver explorer company is a profit only holding for me 🍀
any conclusion out there? i've bought few more shares of avino and a small initial position in silver storm + u.s. gold + silver one + increased a litle bit my almost bankrupt alta copper stake (a day or two later) in order to watch the development of all these companies via my portfolio. i dont like to create watch lists, so i better invest few bucks and try to become familiar with all 'my' companies. of course, i do not comply too much when such an small investment gets lost completely. of course, if over time i thought a specific company is fine and i've put a lot of money into in, it hurts like hell, when it gets burst later (my most painful invetsments: great panther silver, americas gold and silver = former scorpio mining, tara gold, cuervo resources (copper), baja mining (copper), alderon iron ore, sterling mining (silver), andover mining, alexco resources, jaguar mining (gold), ....), you know? thx goodness, there are also many investments that growed well or were taken over by majors at a reasonable price (amerigo resources (copper), agnico eagle mines (gold) via few direct and investments and few takeovers, hudbay minerals (copper) via my altona mining & copper mountain investments, first majestic mining, wheaton precious metals ... and these sucessful investments at the moment outplay the heavy losses from the quite many bankrupt mining companies mentioned above

maybe just to enter the market cheaper, today was a catastrophic crashy day in the markets: silver was down 6%, dow jones 3.98%, S&P 500 4.83%, nasdaq 100 5.41%,m oil 5%, gold 1.5%, ... next day (friday) fell the markets even much worse. at least almost all stocks were cheaper than few days before and i've bought few shares of some of my favorites from the technology sector. btw, why all that current market crash?
A.) someone already knows usa is going to start a war against iran or the like (addendum august 2025: yep, there was the twelve-day war against iran in june 2025 when israel + USA attacked iran and iran responded bombing esp. israel's industry and cities of tel aviv + haifa ...)
B.) it also could be a reaction to president donald trump's tariffs which he plans to impose on many, many coutries which will reduce the world trade. trump calls it reciprocal tariffs (and means retributive justice?). you know what? if you asked me, he mixes up tariffs with trade deficits as the most countries from his board do not impose such tariffs on u.s. goods & services (e.g. serbia does not have 74% tariffs on u.s. products, but it has 74% trade surplus with usa 😇)

just in case you asked yourself in what kind of business i will invest in my next life, it will be technology stocks like google, amazon, nvidia, facebook, sap, oracle, microsoft, .... or i will invest my time, money and energy in s.th. more related to 'save the nature' + people + family + relationships 💕

pershimco resources = gold + copper from panama

pershimco resources ~ canadian gold-copper explorer focused on panama ~ interesting presentation by CEO alain bureau in munich today

  • open pit gold project CERRO QUEMA located on the Azuero Peninsula in Southwestern Panama
  • high management + institutional ownership
  • additional project financing in 2015 needed
  • planned start of production: end of 2016, planned AISC: $631 per ounce
  • additional copper-gold project (its early development should be funded out of cash flow from CERRO QUEMA)
  • well, let's apply for company's newsletter and take some time to consider an investment but yes, more than anything else is the turn-over in the gold/silver/commodity markets and much, much higher gold/silver/copper prices needed, isn't it?

anything else? coming soon or never :-)

think global, act local => #jarobuys local: data modul + KGHM (top world silver producer 2011)

even if i like nice 'cinderella' stories of small undervalued mining and exploration companies from all over the world, let's give the fat cats also their chance. my wife i.e. best of all wives is polish, so why not to include a polish company into my portfolio? especially a company, which mines in lower silesia (slansk, schlesien, sliezsko) we pass by on our trips from munich to lodz few times a year? what do you suggest, should i visit a mine (or the company museum) on our xmas trip to lodz on saturday? nope, not at our upcoming night trip, but maybe sometimes in summer.

dear KGHM polish copper, welcome to my portfolio. KGHM is not only one of the biggest copper producers in the world (#10 in 2011) but it is the single biggest silver producer in the world as well, just see the picture below. hmmmm, not bad for a by-product point of view, isn't it? although it employs 28,000 people it is still a relatively small company in terms of market cap with only approximately $9 billion. why so low? well, mr. market does not understand much about eastern europe, if you asked me :-). any other investment related topics? yes, there are at least two more: it is a partially state owned company (31.79% owned by polish treasury and 68.21? by other investors like me). what's the other issue? it is linked to the first one: KGHM pays fat dividends, often more than 50% of its profit. why? of course, 'the' state always needs money. that was an easy one, true?

top silver producers 2011

source: here

my 2nd purchase this week? data modul, my home town (munich) based high-tech company which produces displays, embedded systems, printers and the like ...

well, i had both companies on my watch list for a long time, but didn't had money to buy any shares, so i used my xmas salary payment from the end of november to finally add these 2 companies to my portfolio. of course, the price was much much higher than it would be after the summer market crash, but i do not worry too much about it as i know, that unlike the state i only can buy some stuff when i have the money to do so ...

good luck my two pretty portfolio fighters, good luck :-)

fino, a fat cat too

investor lunch with golden predator (TSX:GPD)

the golden predator guys + girls presented their company in munich today and yes, i liked it :-)
unlike the last few presentations, i'm going to post my insights on the company this time:
  • yukon's upcoming gold producer as the brewery creek mine is going to start production in 2014. what if not? well, then they still could brew beer and sell it to other miners in the area, couldn't they? lol
  • portfolio of gold royalties in nevada which generates approximately $ 1m a year and could / should generate more as the underlying mines start and/or ramp up their production. the whole royalty business could become a future spin-off as a independent compan, who knows?
  • quite well financed up to the start of own gold production, no need to raise capital at present so depressed stock price level
  • some other assets out there as well, like an old mill in nevada, share packages in 2 or 3 other companies, few early stage gold projects besides brewery creek etc. and so fort
  • what else? hmmm, there was that positive guts feeling issue, you see? i liked many things the CEO william sheriff said: generating cash is the most important issue (many explorer companies still try to increase their reserves / resources even if since 2008 mr. market doesn't value it at all), he prefers to under promise & over deliver, he wants to run the company as a business (profitable!), moved the headquarters from hyper expensive vancouver / canada to silver valley in idaho / usa ... unfortunately, i'm both too lazy + too stupid to check out how many shares he has bought in the last few years and at which price, but i think on average he has paid more than me today (damn, is anyone who's less lazy + less stupid than me going to send me a link to the corresponding insiders' trading reports?)
  • cheap like an unwanted pet, the current price is close to the lowest levels in the last 5 years. will they go bankrupt when the current mining markets continues their ugly downturn? hell, i do not think so, they are already fairly close to (profitable) production and there are still the royalties. the gold price is not going to fall below &1,000 per ounce, is it?
  • what to do? as for me, the same procedure as so often: i've bought few shares today, subscribed for company's newsletter and thus i'm going to follow their development
bill sheriff mentioned also few companies which are somehow connected to golden predator or its directors via some equity investments the one way or the other:
  • my struggling silver producer alexco resources and golden predators neighbor in the yukon territories in canada
  • silver predator (TSX:SPD)
  • wolfpack gold (private company as for now)
  • redtail metals (TSX.V:RTZ) ~ very early stage precious + base metals explorer in the yukon with very low trading volume right now. it is a company i will look closer at and probably buy few shares if i will find some money and not forget to do so ... well, let's link the predator group's website for fast access here
good luck, my lovely golden predator fighters, good luck :-)

addendum november 8th: i've just bought few shares of redtail metals. too expensive as often because i don't want to wait for a cheap(er) price, but compared to the price level we have had months ago still very cheap (CAD 0.13 per share. 28% more expensive than 1 day ago). there is not much volume out there and especially not many sellers, so it is a long term play and i have to hope the management makes the company a succcess and this will creates some market for the share trading as well :-)

so what about my investments in november? well, i'm trying to tell the temporary mining market bottom and to be fully invested for the upcoming rally, thus i've used my margin up to the tilt, you know? good luck my lovely commodity plays, good luck :-)
go gold bugs go and let's crash this fraudulent fiat money system now :o)

addendum november 27th: i've just bought few more shares of redtail metals + golden predator. redtail at CAD 0.095 and predator at CAD 0.30 per share at market opening. hell, the overwhelming fear in the mining stocks market makes every new purchase cheap. anyway, after more than 1 and half years of correction (the peak was the gold @ $1,900 and silver at $50 per ounce event in may 2011 i think) the mining stocks should / could / would finally go up, wouldn't you say?

donner metals + donnybrook energy

zinc + gas? how does that fit 2gether? well, the CEO dave patterson presented his 2 companies donner metals + donnybrook energy in munich 2day ... (pls follow that links for more details abt my perspective on these companies from former investor presentations ;-)

any news? well, the outlook for donner metals is great cos they are much closer to production of Zn / Cu / Ag / Au in quebec / canada as they have been at dave's last visit. nevertheless their share price collapsed in the recent market correction as if there were no tomorrow, hmmmm ... on top we will prolly see collapsing zinc output from existing mines, so we just have to get the demand side of the supply & demand pattern correctly in order to predict future zinc prices, true? .... btw, donner's production will replace the mill feed from an old xstrata's mine which is going out of production in late 2012 / early 2013 ... well, now u know why is xstrata zinc canada (65%) the major partner of donner (35%) in that promising project :-)

what abt donnybrook? hmmm, i had to leave early 2day cos i had a meeting in my office job which i couldnt reject or shift to a later time, so i just catched some of dave's explanations abt the energy + gas markets and abt new gas drilling methods in general, but not much abt the company itself ... i even dont know when should some drill results etc come out and im too lazy to move 2 their website for some update on operations ... but who cares? at the current low low low gas prices they should better keep their gas under the ground, shoudnt they?

u know what? the other folks out there told me that unlike 2008 there is a lot of money in the markets waiting for places to go in .... and yes, a debt financing (fixed rates for some time) is more popular than equity financing (private placements of new shares etc) ... hmmmm, strange, isnt it?  ... even AFTER the crash in the resource sector are the investors scared to invest, hmmmmm ...

excelsior mining

an interesting investor lunch 2day ...
(stolen from aka source of this heaven & hell picture: http://www.excelsiormining.com)

why interesting? well, ive finally understood what in-situ recovery means. on top i could even understand how it works as the excelsior CEO explained that well how they are gonna 2 get all that damned copper out of the desert in arizona that even the dumbest idiot in place (~me) got it, u see? they simply wash it out with water. it is as easy as that, my dear ... btw, thats also the 1st idea i would think of when in the middle of a freaking desert, u2? well, there is also some more sophisticated explanation on their website abt that in-situ stuff, but dont waste your time on that, i will repeat it for u again:
  1. make some holes in the ground
  2. put some water + acid into that holes
  3. wash copper out
  4. separate the copper from water and sell it as expensive as possible. amen!
u wanna know what to do with all that water left? who cares? u can water the desert, flood the hell, drink it, use it again in order 2 wash out additional copper, make beer + whiskey + tasty cocktails out of it, whatever u like ;-). damn, dont bother me with stupid questions like that! ask better when are they going to make a bunch of money for their shareholders and make me rich  ...

folks, u still remember my beautiful copper coin, dont u? well, thats the coin ive won in a bet at excelsior's booth @ PDAC in toronto, u know?

OMG, im just thinking abt how many copper explorers / producers i do already have in my portfolio ... excelsior mining, catalyst copper, baja mining, novagold, andover ventures, donner metals, altona mining, rio alto mining, tiger resources, 1st quantum minerals, amerigo resources, xstrata, vale, rio tinto, bhp billiton, ... and guess what? all of them performed badly this year. shame on them! of course, im both 2 stupid + 2 lazy in order 2 make a YTD performance table out of these funny names, but u guys could do it + send it 2 me, couldnt u?

well, there was also some stuff like ....
  • how much copper in the ground they have
  • how cheap are they gonna 2 produce it cos of that in-situ processing (below $1 per pound as they dont have 2 move any rock out of the ground)
  • environmental issues
  • when are they going 2 do all that permitting, financing, building of processing facilities (im not going 2 call that a mine), how long the mine life could be, ...
  • when theyll start production (in 2014)
  • etc
anything else? coming soon or never ;=)

go copper go!

altona mining (copper mountain) + cap-ex ventures

a combined investor lunch event 2day => altona mining + cap-ex ventures

altona mining survived and became later copper mountain, symbol C6C at ASX) ,,, and even later part of hudbay minerals (HBM at TSX)
altona mining's project in finland
  • my well known copper play
  • great progress in finland ... btw, yesterday won the finnish ice-hockey team the world championship in slovakia (bratislava + my birth city kosice) against their archrival sweden by astonishing 6 : 1
  • great progress in australia dito => later merger of (almost?) equals with copper mountain, C6C
  • well financed ... of course, ive increased my holdings in altona's recent capital raising action few weeks ago ... unfortunately, the current market correction drove the share price below my purchase price :-(
  • anything special 2 mention? well, the CEO alistair cowdem seems to be serious abt what he talks as the company reaches one milestone after another => lets lean back and (with a little patience) lets enjoy the many-bagger future of that investment ;o)
  • ...
cap-ex
  • iron ore in quebec / canada
  • labrador trough ~ iron ore belt which stands for 99% of canadian iron ore production
  • 'plan nord' ~ development of infrastructure by quebec's government
  • very early stage projects
  • ...

anything else? coming soon or never 😄

commodity conference

5 companies presented themselves at the cm-equity commodity conference in munich's best place 'hotel bayerischer hof' 2night:

  • lion one gold - gold in fiji
  • westminster resources ~ copper, gold, silver in mexico
  • western potash ~ potash in canada ~ im invested here since few years

then there were 2 quite interesting 'overview' presentations abt exploration/mining basics (similar 2 my former blog posts uno & dos) and abt a chart supported wake-up call 2 buy physical gold/silver esp. for folks who dont have any (similar 2 my former blog post tres ... btw, that ratio fell to 8 recently :-)

what abt pictures + more insights? ... coming soon ... here we go :-)

some tasty snacks and time to speak to other investors, gold bugs and the like ...

a nice place over there, isnt it?

folks, im too tired + too lazy in order 2 write anything, so just move 2 host's website and enjoy the fact that on sept 28, 2011 there will be the next such commodity conference ...
