commodity conference

5 companies presented themselves at the cm-equity commodity conference in munich's best place 'hotel bayerischer hof' 2night:

  • corex gold ~ gold in mexico
  • adriot resources ~ antimony in italy ~ im invested here since few weeks
  • lion one gold - gold in fiji
  • westminster resources ~ copper, gold, silver in mexico
  • western potash ~ potash in canada ~ im invested here since few years

then there were 2 quite interesting 'overview' presentations abt exploration/mining basics (similar 2 my former blog posts uno & dos) and abt a chart supported wake-up call 2 buy physical gold/silver esp. for folks who dont have any (similar 2 my former blog post tres ... btw, that ratio fell to 8 recently :-)

what abt pictures + more insights? ... coming soon ... here we go :-)

some tasty snacks and time to speak to other investors, gold bugs and the like ...

a nice place over there, isnt it?

folks, im too tired + too lazy in order 2 write anything, so just move 2 host's website and enjoy the fact that on sept 28, 2011 there will be the next such commodity conference ...

my best investment?

what abt my best investment? of course, best just in terms of money ... please dont think abt investment in education, in my wife (thx goodness, i've got her! nobody would work all day for sooooo many years without any salary, u know? lol), invetment in peace, future of planet earth or any 'feel good' stuff. pls think here just in terms of investment return, ok? what abt craaaazy +703% in 1 year? damned hell, why did i not bought that stock 2 months earlier (in 2008) as that would be a tax free profit in that 'old german tax law' case :-(

folks, it is the gold explorer levon resources (TSX.V: LVN, company website). i've bought 5,000 shares in late february 2009 because of all the good news in their newsletters i've subscribed for some time and because of the cheap price. well, i couldnt understand why did the share price not skyrocket on all the great prospects so i've decided 2 take a bet against mr. market, you know? i just thought, damn, it is not a valid reason 2 keep the price down just because nobody wants that stock or because the overall market collapsed (in march)! do u agree abt these points 2day, my dear mr. market, dont u? well, the stock price didnt do much in the next few months ... then doubled in june ... and came back in july again ... in order 2 wake up mr. market from his lethargy i wrote a blog post abt the riiiiising gold price acceleration in august 2009. well, mr. market got the message, gold climbed from $935 up to $1,200 and levon from my entry level @ EUR 0.079 up to EUR 0.663 (= the intraday all-time-high level yesterday = CAD 0.93)! gold exploration business is soooooo crazy, isn't it?

question #1: how does an increase of +703.78% look like? no clue? hmmmmm, it looks like that (all quotes in CAD, view full page here):

(5 years vs. 6 months vs. intraday)

question #2: how does it look like if an investment doesnt do well? hmmmmm, it looks the same, u just have 2 turn your head left or rotate the chart by 90 degrees in the clockwise direction. easy, isnt it? btw, im not going to post the corresponding charts of failed investments here. few of them are still in my portfolio (sterling mining, qimonda, RBS, hy lake, buffalo gold, ...), few others disappeared from the quotations list after their bankruptcy :-(

question #3: when is the right time 2 sell a stock like levon resources? thats easy! just look into my crystal ball and/or ask my dear 100-years-old indicator, the dow-gold-ratio :-)

gold price in 2013? hmmm, maybe $8,000? (james turk)

addendum december 2012: outlook 2013 - 2015, enjoy :-)

~~~
james turk + me
every gold bug + every gold opponent knows we can't eat gold, of course not ... buuuut we could drink the wine from the gold bar case ... lol
james turk + peter boehringer
what abt a gold price of $8,000 in 2013/2014 and a dow-gold-ratio of 1 : 1? just crazy fantasy, you think? well, that's the number james turk (founder + CEO of www.goldmoney.com) gave barron's in an interview in 2003, i think (i'm too lazy to google the web right know 2 provide a link, so pls just believe it or not ~ it's up 2 u ... LOL). well, james repeated that yesterday in his great presentation on the germany's gold bugs club (DEG) meeting in one of the oldest and prolly the most famous munich's pub/restaurant hofbräuhaus yesterday. he thinks also abt 1 oz gold = $20,000 = DJIA if the FED continues to print money like crazy :)
btw, what's my guess? i think 1 oz gold could climb up to $5,000 within few years, of course only if the poor USD survives that long! why? well, there is already the american buffalo 1 oz gold coin with face value $50 (and a 1 oz silver 'american eagle' coin with the face value of $1) out there, you know? got it? at 1oz gold = $5,000 we just have to remove two zeros (hell, that's easy!) and we have the new gold price in new dollars $50. got it again? 1 oz gold = $20 ... few years later ... $35 ... few years later ... $50 ... damn! that's what i call continuity in fiscal policies!
any other ideas/topics?
  • gap between u.s. government spending and u.s. tax revenue getting bigger and bigger (exponential deficits!)
  • usa + europe are heading 2 argentina like hyper-inflation of deposit accounts
  • fear index
  • gold-silver-ratio
  • dow-gold-ratio (read my former blog post for more information here)
  • accumulate gold + silver instead of speculate with them (unless you're a gifted daytrader or the like)
  • gold + silver is still cheap + undervalued
  • bavarian food + bavarian beer + pretzels + much more :-)
folks, i will prolly enhance few details later, so let's close the blog post for now with 2 james turk quotes + few pics, ok?
  1. hope 4 the best, plan 4 the worst
  2. buy tangible assets instead of financial assets
peter boehringer (DEG chairman) speaking:
happy gold bugs #1
happy gold bugs #2
happy gold bugs #3
btw, that's me + my sister + her boyfriend (left 2 right), you know?
diversification? no! all-time-high instead :o)
folks, you still remember i told u not to diversify but to buy just the 'right' securities, do u? well, diversification makes sense just 4 folks who DO NOT KNOW what's right and what is not, which is prolly true for the most folks out there on the financial markets :-)
i wanted 2 tell u about the all-time-high in my gold-silver-commodities investment account already 3 or 4 days ago but couldn't find any time 2 do so. well, as the gold/silver price continued to move further upstairs, so did my portfolio :-). even today reached 20 out of my 123 positions their 52 weeks highs and few others are not far away from their yearly highs as well, most of them are commodity stocks, of course :o). could it be that it's the end of the game now and it's a time to sell everything? i don't think so as many of that stocks are still significantly below their summer 2008 levels, which was, of course, before that damned crashy october 2008 (pls, pls never come back!), so there is still some hope and still some space for some further increase, i believe ... so let's use the famous dow-gold-ratio 2 determine when is the right time to sell :-)
i'm not sure if we will see an inflationary rally in price of everything besides the soooo weak USD or just an inflationary rally in gold / silver / hard assets / commodities and a crash in financial (paper) assets soon? hmmm, there is so much damned paper money out there, isn't it? it is not like the damned dreams-destroying october 2008, is it? but anyway: good-bye fiat money, good-bye corrupt governments, good-bye small dirty central banks! GO, GOLD BUGS, GO !!!
rob mcewen invests in vg gold => +126.92% today!
crazy gold explorer stocks!
folks, u know rob mcewen? yes? fine! no? also fine, just imagine the 'warren buffett' of the gold market
folks, pls tell me how stupid the homo sapiens finacialis is? yesterday no one liked my struggling portfolio position – vedron gold (renamed 2 vg gold recently), today is there a buying orgy as if there were no stocks tomorrow! the stock is +126.92% just now and sells @ CAD 0.295 … hmmmmm, didn’t the folks read that rob mcewen's lexam explorations paid just CAD 0.08 per vedron's share? will the price fall to CAD 0.08 later on? ... 5 hours later ... vedron closed @CAD 0.255 (+96.15%), the volume was 3,642,169 stocks. what about the avg. volume? would u like to guess? .......... just 47,300 stocks a day .... crazy homo sapiens finacialis!
thx goodness i’ve increased my stake in vedron gold in may by approx. 60%. not bad jaro, not baaaaaaad at aaaaaaaall, yabbadabbadooo
damned hell, why didn’t tweet rob that message to me before informing all these media guys? and when will he invest also in my other struggling (nevada based!) gold explorers/miners like bravo ventures, coral gold, miranda gold, … and when will he increase his own stake in u.s. gold 2 help his weak performing stock also gain +126.92% in a single day?
btw, 3 years ago (march 5, 2006), he announced to take-over 4 (nevada based) gold companies and bought 3 of them actually (nevada pacific gold + white knight resources + tone resources) … he also bought a major part of minera andes (@ CAD 1, current price CAD 0.83) recently, so let’s hope his appetite 4 gold stocks isn’t satisfied yet ... good luck, rob
ps: lexam explorations (one of mcewen's companies and the actual buyer of vedron's stock) is +35.71% today (maybe is their vedron investment at current price more worth than lexam itself - let's check the numbers later o). well, it's also nice 4 my portfolio even if lexam is still 50% down compared to my purchase price in summer 2007 (far before the october 2008 crash for most metal explorer stocks have destroyed sooo many dreams). btw, mcewen's flagship us gold is +2.33% today.
pps: folks, you still remember my comments about rob mcewen in my blog post concerning the gold-dow-ratio (
Posted 07-19-2009), don’t u?
ps: 2 read the whole discussion, pls go informedtrades.
pps: folks, i do feel like if bravo venture could be the next take-over target ... wanna read more ? oki, pls follow here
...
addendum april 12, 2010: king world news interviewed rob mcewen on april 10, 2010 ... wanna hear the interview? pls go here :-)
In this interview Rob discusses the disastrous course of US policy, the possibility of hyperinflation in the US, consolidation in the mining sector, the coming explosive mania that will send gold skyrocketing in price and much more.
addendum november 5th, 2010: folks, ive met rob mcewen @ the precious metals fair in munich ... he was the key speaker of the conference, so i will prolly post some insights in my planned blog abt the event tomorrow or on sunday. just to let you know that (in his opinion) the time for buying gold/silver & mining stocks isnt over yet as he still sticks to the dow-gold-ratio in order 2 see when there is time for other opportunities than gold in the markets
dow-gold-ratio :o)
the #1 GOLDBUGs FAQ: when will 1 ounce of gold (or 2?) buy the whole DJIA again?
100-years-chart (view full page here: http://twitpic.com/atjk8):
i've found & stored (= saved, not stolen ;-) that beautiful picture from http://www.usgold.com/ when the ratio was 15. they've changed the black background color to white ... and the ratio is 9 now ... as long as they will not remove that chart from their website you can always check the current ratio here.
btw, rob mcewen's us gold is my single biggest (stock) investment, but unfortunately still struggling a lot . anyway, i think/hope/believe they'll find some significant gold deposits ... and develop gold mines ... and pay fat dividends ... and their stock will skyrocket as goldcorp's led by rob mcewen did many years ago .
take care,
j.
ps: instead of care i would rather take share in that gold rally started in 1999 and lasting till ??? ... well, who knows that, but let's hope that this 100-years-old-indicator will not prove wrong this time :-)
addendum 05/25/2010: no, no, no!!! there is a guy who wants 2 destroy all my believes abt gold, stocks, good & evil ... OMG! OMG! OMG! robert rethfeld, the www.wellenreiter-invest.de guy, posted the dow-gold-ratio since 1800 and look: the ratio is not going 2 reach 1 or 2 any time in the future, is it? does that really mean that stocks outperform gold in the long run? btw, are the DJIA dividends included in the DJIA price calculation?
folks, im not going 2 believe that crazy stuff (posted on may 22th, 2010) 2day.... lets go 2 bed and think abt that 2morrow :-)
damned hell, what happened 2 my trading & investing?
folks, there are sooooo many reasons why i do not trade / invest / follow the markets / write / ... as before!
  • first of
  • all, i do follow social media websites like twitter, facebook, xing, youtube etc. soooo often and soooo long that i simply do not have much time left
  • i've already invested all available money in the last few months / weeks. btw, my last stock purchase was the exercise of my rio tinto warrants on july 1st. well, there are no additional investment funds currently and i'm also not going 2 sell my gold / silver / green energy / commodity / technology stocks yet ... why not? hmmmmm, i'm waiting till the DJIA will quote @ about 1 or 2 oz gold. 'cos the DJIA/gold ratio fell just bellow 9 recently it could take some more time, couldn't it?
  • i still haven't found any peace of mind because of soooo much nonsense & injustice in my daily office job (i'm a software developer, u still remember that?)
  • i do know that i'm not the super-duper talented market timer so i do not try to do much noise in my CFD trading account anyway ... i hope i have a comfortable margin coverage now (approx. 2,000 €uros) so i just add 2 my commodity positions like silver / natural gas / sugar / orange juice / coffee if i believe the prices are damned low ... and in the most cases the damned prices become even lower so i buy even more of that stuff ... did i read too much about jim rogers lately?
  • i do not use to sit so many hours in front of my pc as before
  • folks, is it prolly a combination of all of that? who knows
