#jarobuys oil ...

... more oil ... well, i think oil is much to cheap, let's bet on that inefficiency of the financial markets :-)

of course, i think that damned oil is much too cheap for some time now, so i've just increased my existing positions, but i'm still down on all of that investments / trades ... hmmmm, you don't think mr. market is right and i'm wrong my dears, do you?

hell, my 2 warrants that expired in the middle of november were sold at a relative small profit (the win on the first warrant could overweight the total loss on the second, the more speculative one). so i have paid taxes on the profit and re-invested all the money again. wanna see how dangerous warrant / options trades are? if you are right on the chosen combination of strike price and time, you make some money as i did a year ago, but if you are wrong, your options will be worthless at their respective expiry dates and you are going to lose all your money invested ... so be really careful, my dears and believe me, there really is a good reason why warren buffett calls derivates the financial weapons of mass destruction which means you can massively destroy your own account :-)

as for now, the performance of my call options is really poor, but there is still some hope for my derivative vehicles as their expiry dates range between november 2013 and november 2015 and their strike prices range between $85 and $115 per barrel.

go, oil trades go :-)

stupid, more stupid, most stupid, stock market investors :-)

addendum december 27, 2012: stupidity is not a singlei investment issue, you know? when in fear (or greedy) investors/traders drive many markets in the same direction at the same time ... just look what happend today after some unimportant economy confidence analysis hit the market today ... pure panic :-(

~~~
my silver miners from idaho, Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation (CDE), missed some stupid analysts expectations, reported a loss of $15.8m for the last quarter ... so far so good ..
what did the markets today?
5 days trading range + volume
hello, the company lost $15m, the stock is down 20%, the market cap is down $400+ million => hello again, mr. market? btw, that's the corresponding news release
stupid, more stupid, most stupid, stock market investors ??? please wake up, my dear homo sapiens financialis and yes, please start thinking for yourself ...
well, let's bet that this downturn is a little bit too much for a small 3Q loss for a still profitable company (on a yearly basis) and let's buy few shares tomorrow :-)
addendum, day #1: well, i've got some CDE shares on market opening at $24.69. the stock increased +8.17% today, the closing quote is $26.07. not bad for 1 day, if you asked me. what do you think, my dear mr. market? who was right and who was wrong yesterday? hmmmm :-)
same issue, different story ~ why i don't like investors/traders :-)
silver -11.24% right now :-(((
OMG, OMG, OMG!
folks, ive made some €uros in my mini trading account by going long & short & short SILVER right now .... exactly 222.69 €uros at the current usd/eur rate ... but im quite sure i will lose many thousands of €uros in my investing account tomorrow, because it is full of mining shares, especially junior mining shares
its so strange, we just had an all-time-high in gold $1,576 per ounce few minutes ago and a high-high-high silver price of $48 or $49 and now it is going to be such a mess for junior gold/silver producers & explorers and their investors
well, mr. market can be soooo cruel
OMG again!
go commodities go!
why i dont like investors/traders :-=)
yes, i especially dont like to be wrong on the markets myself .... but lets look what did my top 6 positions 2day (in €uros, of course ;-)
  • scorpio mining -12.3%
  • 1st majestic silver -3.2%
  • novagold -0.1%
  • u.s. gold -1.1%
  • orko silver -1.3%
  • endeavour silver -3.9%
damn, what happened 2day? well, after a small intra-day correction climbed gold to its all-time-high $1,496 and silver to its 30-years-high $43.43 per ounce (current quotes) !!!
who is crazy and whos not, my dear mr. market? any lessons learned? yep!
  • the investors/traders know the price of everything and the value of nothing
  • the 2008 panic selling is back in the markets :-(
mad world, isnt it? well, lets go against the crowd again, my gold/silver producers are not going to go bankrupt at these metal prices, are they?
ps: bad luck with my paper silver positions 2day as well: 2 out of 4 contracts sold during the shoooort silver price correction @ $42.42 and 42.24 (with nice profits) only 2 see the silver rally up to $43.43 after that
pps: i love my crazy wife
investors = stupid idiots who sell their stocks even for a price next to nothing and then wonder why fell 'the markets' that low ~ jaro gruber
addendum april 14, 2012 (source of the picture facebook)
soooo true ... when in fear they sell their stuff even at a price next 2 nothing, when greedy no price is high enough :-)
nicolas darvas: how i made $2,000,000 in the stock market
hell! was there a famous world class dancer of hungarian origin who has made $2,000,000 out of thiny $10,000 in 18 months in 1958-1959? wanna look up the official u.s. inflation calculator in order 2 see how much have $2m in 2days inflationary dollars 'grown'? pls do yourself a favor and DONT TRY 2 compute the corresponding amount using not official, not doctored, not hedonic, pre-clinton, real inflation numbers ('price 2day - price before' => real inflation is really as simple as that!)  ... wanna visit john williams' shadow statistics?
ok, lets think abt the stuff i could remember after finishing that thinny booklet, where many issues were simplified in order to make it easier to understand ...
well, i liked it! why? 1st because it was really easy 2 digest and 2nd cos it was funny and interesting anyway. damn! already in the first 10 or 15 pages listed nicolas darvas that many mistakes he did in the beginning of his investor carreer that i asked myself why didnt i read this book before ive started my investor carreer ... it would cost me less than 10 euros instead of many thousands ive lost myself on following strange rumours, overtrading, commissions, subscribing financial services, newsletters, having pet stocks, throwing all money available in the markets, forecasting instead of following mr. market, my ego, not having an exit strategy and the like ... just kidding, of course i do know that we have 2 do the most mistakes by ourselves, otherwise we dont really remember them :-)
there was at least one big difference between darvas and me! he sold his stocks if he was wrong and didnt carried too heavy losses on single positions ... of course i didnt and there are still 'dead' stocks in my portfolio they are 95% or more below my original purchase price and there were also stocks which are no longer listed cos of bankruptcies etc.
what abt his BOX theory and abt his market approach? buy high, sell higher! is it really as easy as that? nope! watch also the volume (rising price + high volume!), cos there are already insiders who know more than mr. market + the general public at that time abt companys affairs. ignore all news/rumours abt a stock and take your decisions only based on your stocks behaviour ... make small pilot buys and follow your stocks closely in order to 'feel' them ... increase your position as long as the trend continues ... use automatic buy + sell orders ... always use stop-loss-orders! they will protect your capital ... buy if a stock moves into a higher box (we would prolly say ranges instead of boxes 2day) ... sell if the stocks fells below the box or on some other unexpected/unwanted behaviour ...
darvas considered himself as investor + trend follower + techno-fundamentalist and he didnt advocated short-term trading ... as for me, he was a trader who didnt paid too much attention to the fundamentals of his companies and only reacted 2 rising price & volume ....
any additional comments? yep, i could motivate my youngest daugther again and she typewrited few interesting rules 4u:
EVIL:
  1. I should not follow advisory services. They are not infallible, either in canada or on wall street
  2. I should be cautious with brokers' advice. They can be wrong.
  3. I should ignore wall street sayings, no matter how ancient and revered.
  4. I should not trade “over the counter” -only in listed stocks where there is always a buyer when I want to sell.
  5. I should not listen to rumors, no matter how founded they may appear. (btw, that was 4 him easier 2 arrange when he was touring the world as a night club dancer and only got his daily stock quotes telegrams than when he lived in NY :-)
  6. The fundamental approach worked better for me than gambling. I should study it.
  7. I should rather hold on to one rising stock for a longer period than juggle with a dozen stocks for a short period at a time.
GOOD:
  1. stocks with quality rating
  2. stocks the experts like
  3. stocks selling below book value
  4. stocks with strong cash position
  5. stocks that have never cut their dividend
  6. the strongest industry group
  7. the strongest company within that industry group
how 2 act (re-defined objectives in the stock market):
  1. right stocks
  2. right timing
  3. small losses
  4. big profits
weapons 2 use:
  1. price and volume
  2. box theory
  3. automatic buy-order
  4. stop-loss sell-order
#jarobuys tiger resources ... cop-copp-COPPER!
next investor lunch event in munich! well, the donner metals guys (zinc/copper in queebec/canada) were introduced by fortuna capital + euroscandic last week, this time there was an axino presents event in a new location near main station. the location itself was fine, the conference room even much better than the old facility, the food great as usual, only the waiters were completely different! unlike the old bavarian mum in the former restaurant they were polite and friendly on the one side but slow like snails on the other => OMG!). what were the most important issues abt tiger? here we go, but watch out since its my own recording + interpretation of david young's (managing director) matter-of-fact tone:
  • copper, copper, copper, copper, silver, cobalt
  • located in the high grade copper belt congo/zambia
  • damned high grades! above 8% Cu ... folks, there are explorers/junior miners in north america out there who try 2 develop projects with copper grades of approx 1% right now => ??? ... ohhh, just looked-up the donner guys ... highest grade? 1.7% Cu ;-( ... gonna hope there is a lot of zinc!
  • congo :-( ... democratic elections 2006 => DRC?!? ... the new 'democratic' government has stolen a world class Cu project from my dear 1st quantum minerals guys ... they still protest like crazy in front of some intnl. business courts but it doesnt look like theyd get the project or any compensation back ... well, 1st quantum still has their zambian mines and pays dividends, so my quantum shares are up 175% since february 2009 cos i was lucky 2 buy these shares after both the congo-crash and the new world order after the crashy october 2008
  • the chinese invest in the whole area like crazy
  • 1st production from tigers major project (60% tiger, 40% congo) planned for Q1/2011 ... folks, its just 3-5 months away, isnt it?
  • low operation costs ... well, thats important cos in that case there will be prolly some buck or two left in the cash desk 2 bribe/motivate the local government officials or even some local war lords? gonna call that sponsorship 4 local communities?
  • very very strong shareholder base ... im curious if also the nowadays so commodity-crazy paulson's fund enters the tiger story and pushes the share price to new levels like it did in my novagold involvement this spring?
  • well financed
  • much too many shares outstanding + soooo many freaking options available i couldnt count them in a week :-(
  • crazy business model: just start the production in a cheap-cheap-cheap processing plant some copper first (only stolen is cheaper!), withdraw as much copper out of your rocks as your simple plant equipment allows and stockpile all the remaining 'waste' material somewhere in the jungle! folks, that 'waste' is going to contain 3% Cu (not a typo !!?!) and will prolly be used for some future processing in some future much much better (and more costly) plant if they still like 2 do so ... btw, whos gonna do the math? does it really mean a low-low-low recovery grade of only 60%? who knows that 4 sure? of course, im not going to bother my calculator cos what data shoudda put in? and its 2 late anyway ;-)
  • ...
  • what is the biggest risk/problem right now? IMO is that the damned share price which is expensive like hell! hmmmm, what to do if u like the company but dont like the current price? u still remember my peter lynch story? yeah? well, then its easy:
  1. make some pilot buy immediately
  2. apply 4 companys newsletter + information flow
  3. follow its development
  4. ask mr. market if there will be some general stock market decline on the road and buy more tiger shares then or in case of some other dips ...
OMD! ive blindly bought also few 'nickel/gold' shares of belvedere res, my next finnish mining play! well, there is always some good information in the air if u have so many buddies in the mining business, u know? just think abt the alexco res. idea 2 weeks ago (~encanto potash presentation) => its already 26% up!
any additional insights? maybe later if there will be some major developments :-)
good luck tiger! good luck belvedere! good luck africa! good luck my portfolio :o)
go andover go!
folks, thats the 2nd visit of andover (TSX-V: AOX) in munich so far (welcome, rob + thx 4 coming again). if u wanna u can see some pictures of the nice käfer`s palace from the 1st event here.
what happened since the last visit? IMO are the things changing from good to better, which leads me 2 the question of the day: what 2 do in a situation like that? that was an easy one, wasnt it? of course, #jarobuys more andover shares 2day!
lets try 2 sum up few investment related issues:
  • the prospects are great: 3 different Au/Ag/Zn/Pb/Cu properties, geothermal energy, limestone, rare earths, huge land package, ...
  • the mngmt owns approx 35% of all outstanding shares, so the guys in charge of the company are going 2 work like crazy in order 2 make that story a success  => lets take part in that ;-)
  • few legal issues concerning genco/chief are solved in andovers favor
  • ...
  • any risks? of course, exploration/mining is a risky business and there will be a lot of capital and/or a strong partner (like rio tinto in one of the properties) needed till all assets become cash generating mines ... gonna wait that long?
hell! lets tell mr. market andover's share price should respond accordingly SOON :-)
btw, if u wanna philosophize abt that issue u can also move 2 the discussion page @ InformedTrades ...
investor lunch with andover mining (TSX-V: AOX)
what abt my interesting investor lunch event in one of the best munich's localities käfer (~'a beetle')? what abt the savvy investors, newsletter writers, money managers and crazy aliens like me? wanna see some other aliens? wheee, not at all? no problem, its your choice ... anyway, my question is ... question is ... what the hell is andover? lets ask wikipedia! andover?!? sorry 4 that, just a small joke! dont worry, we are not going 2 visit every single state in usa in order to meet andover mining (AOX), promised ... former name: andover ventures. well, lets move directly 2 companys website for any details and/or future updates concerning that promising Au + Ag + Cu + Pb + Zn explorer, ok?
the company was presented by not sooooo very gifted public speaker ... the brother of the current ceo (~the blankstein boys!) ... just in case u are not certain abt me, IMHO its much better 2 listen 2 a realistic professional who is a major shareholder of the company himself speaking abt all that advantages, prospects, risks and abt the roadmap 2 investors' heaven than 2 listen 2 an actor who would tell you the nicest stories abt nothing ... btw, whats your opinion?
there was soooo much positive news and even actual positive developments in the past few months that as for me, the most strange thing abt andover is the damned poor stock performance! dont forget there were record gold prices out there, successful legal settlement of some 60m outstanding debt concerning former operations of their majoritarian holding chief consolidated mining company, some contracts with geothermal energy producers on some stupid hot water on their property (what abt my RAM power corp?), limestone, real estate assets, already available mine equipment left by former mine operators, two high grade properties (Au + Ag + Pb + Zn in utah & Au + Cu in alaskaIMO in obamalitically completely crazy and unstable country (lol) but europe is not any better and australia (40% additional tax on resources planned!) & south america is even much much worse (!!!), a new planned roads/railroads to andovers neighbor property in alaska (OMD, its novagold, my most prominent ten bagger club member!) ... ok, there is still one minor unresolved legal issue outstanding (some 5m dispute over genco resources ~ my struggling silver play!) ... hell, is it too good to be true or what? what does mr. market know what i dont? or is the company that unknown that even the most hot story on earth wouldnt reach the tsx-venture tape? folks, lets try it out and lets bet against mr. markets opinion again :-)
damn, im not that paper trader type of guy! hmmmm, whats 2 do next for an earth convict like me? well, i just thought lets give these andover guys a try and thus bought few shares in canada @ CAD 0.21 today. folks, its sth like the 6 months low, u know? well, there was not much money left from my recent cash-in @ cbh resources, so ive decided 2 use my margin account as there is at the moment nearly a complete cash coverage of all open positions anyway, so what?
any other investor homework out there? yep, ive subscribed 2 their newsletter and im going 2 watch andovers development a little bit closer and of course, maybe there will be a point in the future where happens both, i have money 2 invest and andover looks like a great buying opportunity again. damn! that would be a moment 2 increase my initial stake (what abt robbing my wifes and childrens pockets at night? :-)
folks, dont worry, u know me already well enough so u can be sure i will handover andovers major issues from time 2 time (of course, just in case if sth interesting happens eg the share price doubles or andover finally joins my ten bagger club or the like ...)
what abt few pictures? well, there are some mining pictures on companys website, but nothing soooooo interesting ... well, lets go back 2 munich and visit käfer again, there should be at least its beautiful historical building somewhere 2 find ... here we go!
outside ...
... inside ... no insider visible? just dont care ... the waitress is coming soon :-)
GOOD LUCK, MY LOVELY ANDOVER VENTURES, GOOD LUCK
#jarosells CBH resources, pays taxes, bail-outs own checking account, #jarobuys greystar + rocmec + SQM + halo + amerigo resources and still has 2k left 4 additional investments :-)
folks, u thought if the title is that long, there is no need to write the body of the message, isnt it? well, its not that simple! first of all, good-bye my lovely 5th biggest and 2nd or 3rd most succesful investment ever, good-bye cbh resources (~base metals in australia) ...
pls dont tell me 'ride your winners and sell your losers', selling cbh was hard enough 4 me ... well, the take-over bid is there, the price is fixed @ AUD 0.24 and there is no reason 2 keep that position any longer i think .... of course, that price still 50% below its pre-crash-2008-level and the AUD could rise against the poor €uro a little bit further till july (~ take-over deadline if 90% of shareholder will agree to toho zinc's offer)... i dont think there will be a new (higher!) bid price in the future as the belgian nyrstar and japanese toho increased their offers already 2 or 3 times, u know? i even think, if the take-over doesnt take place in july cbh's share price would collapse badly ...
so, lets take the chance of byuing few new companies cheaper than expected cos the recent micro correction in the golden rally  (the price of gold fell from its recent all-time-high $1,250 to $1,170 and is back to $1,213) and also small correction in the general stock market (DJIA is down approx 10%) in the last 10-15 days caused that many, many, many precious metals explorers and junior producers are down 15 - 30% and few even more (one of my 'heroes', levon resources is 50% down!!! thats prolly cos of its huuuuge gains before, so the investors who dont wanna admit they were wrong (poor gamblers?) sold levon 'taking' a profit i assume :-). thx for that nice buying opportunities, mr. market, thx :-)
btw, wanna know what does faith mean in investor's decision taking? just look at the dates and volumes ive add 2 my initial play which started in march 2007. here few shares and there next few of them if the family budget allowed some new investment funds ... thats what i call value investing, u know?
(i will change the screen shot for a new one with 'my' price €0.16 instead of current €0.158 next week if possible)
did i told u i hate taxes a lot? no? imagine as told right now :). damned hell, all profits on stocks/options/etc bought since january 2009 are subject of approx 28-30% tax in germany. well, now u can understand why ive spent my last 87 €uros on the 30.12.2008, the very last tax-free day of my life :). ok, my gross profit was approx 3,000 €uros, thus approx €700 was tax, i still own the very last 1,500 shares which ive moved 2 a different account last year but the 52% loss (= 250 euros) on them will not reduce my taxes because the purchase date was in 2007 ... im not going to sell that stocks because of the 10 or 15 €uros of commission, ive just agreed to toho's offer and hope they will pay out the money without charging any additional fees/commissions  ...
what abt my new involvements?
  • greystar resources - gold in colombia, cheap like an unwanted pet cos of some (major!) environmental/political problems with local colombian authorities
  • SQM or do u like SOC.QUIMICA Y MIN.DE CHILE SA better? -hmmmm, bought straight forward out of my watchlist cos recognized of one of my favorite decision patterns i.e. price approx 20-30% below recent highs + progressive dividend payer (dividend increases every year). well, when i wanted to look-up which metals they produce in the evening, i wondered like crazy when i saw SQM is an iodine + potash (~fertilizer) producer :-). ok, my 'food investments' division [western potash, K+S (kali+salz ~ the huge german potash producer), burcon nutrascience, ADM, KWS saat, nestle ...] welcomes a new member, so what?
  • rocmec mining - gold in canada, a small increase of existing position, investment pattern? collapsed price vs. good news flow
  • halo resources - gold in canada, a small increase of existing position, investment pattern? collapsed price vs. good news flow (btw, thats not a copy & paste error :o)
  • ?
  • ........................................................
  • .... a loooong weekend in between ....
  • ........................................................
  • ?
  • ??
  • ??? (dont worry, i will resolve that enigma next week :-)
  • ??
  • ?
  • soltoro ltd - silver & gold in mexico, one of my (former!) watch list positions, great pattern (cheap compared 2 previous levels without any negative news), the stock was 19% up today, by accident was my 2nd (smaller) buy order (quoted CAD 0.25) deleted by my broker and i didnt read their corresponding email (i never do from my employer's office), the stock closed 10% higher @ CAD 0.275 ... well, im not sure if i should try 2 get it @ CAD 0.25 tomorrow or prolly buy some other stock?
  • amerigo resources - copper & molybdenum in chile, increased existing portfolio position
  • scorpio mining - silver & zinc & lead in mexico, increased existing portfolio position
  • sued-chemie - special chemistry in munich/germany => my next AGM candidate! a completely crazy stock! there is nearly NO TRADING VOLUME at all!!! 2day there were just 124 shares sold in whole germany! on friday none (my order was not filled as well)! there ist mostly no bid quote (=no possibility 2 buy) out there, there is always a strange ask quote with no relation 2 previous day and even without any relation to general market movement, very strange shareholder structure: JP morgan chase owns 50.4% of the company (hell, what does that mean?!?!?!? hell, is it prolly even some 'strong hands' group of people represented by some JPM's fund?), 3 more groups/families with approx 10%, me with 2 shares, there are 15.8% of free-floating shares => very very strange, isnt it?), IMHO it looks like if some group of folks is baiting the remaining shareholders (lets collect all shares at given level and increase the price the next day 2 collect next available shares ... soooo strange, u know? ... well, the earnings in crashy 2009 were not much lower than company's average but there was no dividend at all (=> the next false trick in order 2 shake the weak hands out?), btw, a former colleague of mine works at sued-chemie and she believes the company is doing well .... last but not least, we are not speaking abt a pennystock right now! sued-chemie is a giant established back in 1857, with 6,500 employees and revenues of €1.2 billion. btw, ive paid 100 €uros per share + commissions on the 1st opportunity where there was an ask quote out there and thus 5 €uros more than a week ago initially intended (~all-time-high @ approx 109 was reached few weeks ago) ... well, lets visit their AGM next year and lets look at these strange folks a little bit closer :-)
  • ?
  • ??
  • ??? (.... a short night in between. hell, its soooo late again :-( . + still some money left for 1 or 2 additional positions :-)
  • ??
  • ?
  • aurizon mines - gold production in queebec / canada. motto? the best place to find gold...is in a gold mine. folks, i dont think so ... u know ive been in a gold mine already, its not that easy there! what abt fort knox? sorry 4 that! just a stupid joke. of course, there is no gold in fort knox anymore :-)
  • penn west energy trust - ive increased my stake in that canadian gas + oil producer, steadily monthly dividends, a lean-back-and-enjoy long term investment ...
that investment stuff is sooo easy
addendum 05/31/2010: greystarrrrrrrr! folks, im both, a lucky alien and stupid idiot, u know? well, my intergalactic stock analysis (see the original blog post above ;-) told me 2 buy greystar resources on friday and 2day (~the very next trading session!) is the stock+44.41% uuuuuuup! of course, a positive decision on that strange colombian environmental issue ... why am i a stupid idiot as well? hell, ive bought only 100 shares (approx 300 €uros) and not 10m instead? any lessons learned? yep, im going 2 study the famous ‘fat finger’ technique, promised!
btw, how does investor luck look like?
btw, how does bad luck look like? well, it looks the same ... in case you have bought before the crash and sold after cos of some stupid stop-loss-limits or the like ... luck is always just matter of perspective, u know?
#jarobuys silver producer scorpio mining AGAIN + linear gold + halo resources + moly mines + oroco res. + cardero res. :o)
hell, scorpio (TSX: SPM) was already my biggest position, but i've added few more shares 2day. why? the company's news flow is soooooo great, they've just bought a gold project in nevada (well, there must be lot of gold, i think, just look at few of my nevada based companies like u.s. gold, miranda gold, vg gold, coral gold, ... here and of course, do not forget the big ones like barrick, newmont, etc!) ... got it?... they've bought => they have money => they do not need any stupid financing, they can afford to expand their growth from own resources ... well, i guess their silver-zinc-lead-copper 'nuestra senora' mine in mexico produces enough cash for this kind of acquisitions, you know?
what abt mr. market? well, the stock is despite the right now soaring gold/silver prices down -1.52% => ??? => what's your guess, who is right this time?
a) me
b) mr. market
c) both
d) none of us
hell, that investment stuff is soooooo easy
addendum 01/13/2010:
yabbadabbadooo! folks, i've welcomed the crashy gold/silver prices the last 2 days and increased my scorpio minig position @ CAD 0.67 and CAD 0.68 a lot (at least a lot from my newly @ lynx brokers opened account's size perspective ) + entered a small initial position in linear gold (LRR @TSX). well, i could get linear gold quite cheap! folks, is there a chap/girl out there who would explain the strange behavior of scorpio mining 2 me? hell, they didn't break apart like the most companies in their peer group did (abt 7-15% down in 2 days) ... but they also do not go up now as their peers do right now ... and it is not abt the volume as the volume remains avarage except 5th of january, where there was maybe 7 to 10 times the average volume i think ,,, => any ideas out there?
addendum 01/18/2010:
OMG! just 2 trading days later! scorpio is +11.94% today! the volume was approx twice the usual amount! no news, of course :-). my guess?
1.) these many stupid folks who were willing to sell their scorpio shares that cheap are out of the market
2.) these few folks who want to increase/enter their positions understood that there will never be a cheaper share price out there, so they started to buy at current price and bid it up a little bit :-)
btw, i have bought a small initial position in an additional canadian microcap, the gold-copper-zinc explorer halo resources (TSX: HLO). why? well, i couldn't longer watch how my limit order is not going to be fullfilled and the share price is climbing higher & higher ... so i have increased my limit from CAD 0.05 to CAD 0.1 today and got few shares @ CAD 0.095 ... damn! of course, it is expensive like hell and close to the yesterday's new 52 weeks high and the like and so on ... but you know what? i had no money a month ago as halo traded @ CAD 0.05 because i've waited for the 'capitalization' of my new brokerage account and also bought other stuff and also hoped halo will come back into its former (lower) trading range, so what? well, if the share price should fell to CAD 0.06 or CAD 0.05 sometime in the future i will prolly buy few more shares ... if not? hmmmmm, i will enjoy the development of my current position i think :-)
addendum 02/06/2010: folks, in the last crashy week there were 3 more low-low-low buy limit orders hit and so i could get moly mines (molybdenum in australia), oroco resources (gold in mexico. btw, i got the shares @ CAD 0.22 despite the recent private placement in favor of management & insiders @ CAD 0.25 per share) and increased my stake in cardero resources (iron ore in peru)
hell, hell, hell! that investment stuff is soooooo damned easy
addendum 04/06/2010: i was right, mr. market was wrong, wrong, wrong :-)
yabbadabbdoooo! scorpio mining (SPM) is +20.3% today (a new much much much higher 52 weeks high!), ten times the usual volume, no news, of course! the latest news release 2 days ago deflagrated without any impact cos the stock traded +0.0% the whole day after the earnings message came out => markets are inefficient, of course!
euphoria, pls never go away from me (to the next investor / money manager / hedge fund / trader or the like) ...
