stupid, more stupid, most stupid, stock market investors :-)

addendum december 27, 2012: stupidity is not a singlei investment issue, you know? when in fear (or greedy) investors/traders drive many markets in the same direction at the same time ... just look what happend today after some unimportant economy confidence analysis hit the market today ... pure panic :-(

~~~
my silver miners from idaho, Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation (CDE), missed some stupid analysts expectations, reported a loss of $15.8m for the last quarter ... so far so good ..
what did the markets today?
5 days trading range + volume
hello, the company lost $15m, the stock is down 20%, the market cap is down $400+ million => hello again, mr. market? btw, that's the corresponding news release
stupid, more stupid, most stupid, stock market investors ??? please wake up, my dear homo sapiens financialis and yes, please start thinking for yourself ...
well, let's bet that this downturn is a little bit too much for a small 3Q loss for a still profitable company (on a yearly basis) and let's buy few shares tomorrow :-)
addendum, day #1: well, i've got some CDE shares on market opening at $24.69. the stock increased +8.17% today, the closing quote is $26.07. not bad for 1 day, if you asked me. what do you think, my dear mr. market? who was right and who was wrong yesterday? hmmmm :-)
same issue, different story ~ why i don't like investors/traders :-)
performance 2011 = pain, pain, pain ;-(
what an ugly year at the financial markets!
source: facebook
what the hell happened with me and the markets in 2011? well, the base of my former success, the (steady) rising gold + silver + commodities prices, was not the only difference this time .... unlike the last few years, in 2011 was the gold silver rally in late august unfortunately OVER with an all-time-high @ $1,921 just read my euphoric comment(s) + watch the funny screen shots as the gold price crossed the 1,900 burden ... and later on came the 2008-like-crash in mining stock prices ;-(
if u dont understand why im gonna separate between trading and investing results, its because traders and investors are 2 different species of our dear homo sapiens financialis. just think abt it for a second or two ...
traders = paranoid dreamers who fight against insiders, against political manipulators (eg interventions of central banks in the currency + bond markets), often even against fundamental conditions and own believes in order to snap off few bucks out of short-term movements of the financial markets. (jaro gruber)
investors = stupid idiots who sell their stocks even for a price next to nothing and then wonder why fell 'the markets' that low (jaro gruber)
of course, both traders and investors if they succeed have to pay taxes, support the society and oppose their ugly bloodsucking speculator image made by politics & mainstream media in order to direct the public outrage away from politicians. what if they lose? easy, then they lose their own money and nobody cares abt them .... go homo sapiens financialis go :)
  • my micro trading account: approx 2-3% of all funds; commodity CFDs (natural gas, silver, wheat, orange juice, coffee, sugar, corn, rice, ...). yes, my swing + position trading worked quite fine again, ive made 6k €uros from january till july, which means a YTD trading-performance of +82.5% in 2011, my 2nd best result ever, next to crazy +347% in 2010 ... not bad, isnt it? btw, my peak performance mark was above +10k in june, but then ive lost 4k in 4 days while on holidays. of course, u can go through the july blog post linked above if u are interested in trading psychology issues :-). after the worldwide stock exchanges and my broker consequently increased the margin requirements (e.g. in silver CFDs +700%) and i was forced to provide much much much more money in order to keep a similar line of open positions, ive decided to quit my trading completely. the 2nd reason to quit was my (absolutely wrong) assumption that the gold/silver mining stocks are going to take off and rally for the rest of the year and thus ive mobilized all financial resources i could get .... what a mistake! btw, im not disappointed abt my decision. why not? damn, cos of my hyper-inflationary scenario i was commodities long only but the markets reacted more like in 2008 which means there was panic all over the board (commodities, equities, the most sovereign bonds, ....) and i would definitely lose money, just look at the development of commodity prices since summer till now. well, lets move to the investing part of my 'performance'.
  • my investing account(s): approx 97-98% of all funds; mostly gold + silver + commodity stocks, few energy stocks (esp. green energy), few internet + technology stocks, 1 silver ETF (~ my cash position), 2 different oil call options (one sold in november). PAIN + PAIN + PAIN ... except the first 2.5 months ive felt like in the crashy 2008, u know? there was such a selling pressure in late march, may, july, september, october, november, december ... OMD ;( ... i had to sell few of my positions and few others have been sold by my broker because of margin calls in the sept/oct crash etc and so fort ...  well, the balance of my actions in 2011 was approx plus 60 €uros including my tax loss selling of my silver ETF on xmas eve at a loss of 4.7k in order 2 reduce the tax impacts of my remaining trading/investing profits ... not 2 bad u think? wrong, wrong, wrong my friends ... the problem are the open positions, u know? well, ive lost close to 100k of last year's fictive profits .... it hurts like hell .... of course, i consider my investing account rather as 'numbers' and not as 'money', but 100k could easily buy a new car and leave 50k for additional purchase of mining stocks at these soooooooo depressed levels ... it hurts like hell again ... what to do know? nothing, what else? yep, our 11 years old car cant go into a museum yet and has to survive a year or 2 longer, who cares?
any additional insights? well, after the tax payers all over the rescued the big banks in 2008/2009 the financial crisis turned into sovereign debt crisis (greece, irland, usa, italy, ...); the nuclear disaster in fukushima/japan was not bad enough in order to quit usage of nuclear energy and nuclear weapons (NATO's uranium ammunition 'left' all over the war places); the senseless western colonial wars continued in iraq, afghanistan, libya, .... ; the exorbitant western agricultural subsidies caused additional bankruptcies of farmers in 3rd world and thus hunger + starvation again (esp eastern africa ... btw, the situation there is so hopeless that few desperate folks try to survive as pirates ... OMD, pirates in 21th century!!!); the CIA financed arab spring movement caused revolutions in tunisia, egypt, syria, .... and finally, there is a big big BIG HOPE for 2012+ as the #OccupyWallStreet movement started in NYC and could spread itself around the globe. finally do people like u and me claim for justice + freedom + real democracy + a new society ruled by people and not by huge corporations & illuminati & corrupt governments ...
any lessons learned in 2011? the financial markets are not a one-way-road.
my outlook for 2012+ is not much different from previous years ... the fiat money crisis will continue and become worse and worse until the #OccupyWallStreet movement finally replaces the ruling 'elites' by real democracy and the fraudulent paper money system will be replaced by s.th. else, prolly by gold/silver backed currency(ies)
what to say after my whole financial mess is completely revealed and 2011 is in few hours over? what abt a slogan as every year? ok. merry crisis + happy new fear! huhhhhh? not pessimistic enough? ok, my 2nd trial: merry xmas + happy new year + occupy2012, my friends ;-)
morocco
cold days + cold nights + cold wind + cold water in the tourist mekka ‚agadir‘, OMG! much much colder than munich, we have had SUMMER in germany the last few days .... hmmmmm, do u have any idea why do folks call africa the hot continent? so what, lets enjoy holidays anyway :-)
btw, there is a wifi access in the lobby, so i had to see how badly crashed the gold + silver price yesterday (more than -4% each) and then -5% today after gold reached the crazy all-time-high of $1,912 per ounce in the early trading hours in asia/australia on tuesday. of course, i had to laugh when i saw that many mining companies were down 5% cos it is the same rate they were up on the previous day. yes, homo sapiens financialis is really that stupid, ive told ya before, didnt i?
well, i will prolly start the trading battle again as investing makes completely no sense at current levels of stupidity all over the financial markets. as for now i dont have any finance lecture here in order to give my 'peace of mind' some chance :-). so whats my current literature? eckhart tolle‘s 'the power of now – a guide to spirutual enlightenment'. so when you can follow my gibberish from now on, the enlightenment stuff really works! optimistic me, i still hope there will be a day in the future my writing makes any sense, u see?
of course, there will be some additional insights and a picasa photo album soon, but pls be patient as our vacation just begun. as for me, i hope to learn more abt the arab color revolutions, 2 see the castle + port of agadir, 2 visit the atlas mountains and the city of marrakech, …
~~~

thx goodness, ive found the only warm place in agadir 2day! it was inside the hamam, my dear :-). btw, are there any arab (speaking) folks who would like to translate the message written below the castle ruines of agadir?
any ideas out there?

... allah, homeland, king :)
~~~
the challenging and thus quite unfriendly ‚tasting‘ muslim ramadan month was over after the 1st week of our stay and from one day to another changed the local people to friendly, smiling, sports playing and jokes making folks. hmmmm, what a difference when they are ‚allowed‘ to drink and eat during the day! if u asked me, the god(s) dont like suffering people and the rigid ramadan rules are made by people not by god i believe … of course, im not a quran expert, but as far as i can remember, one of my munich muslim friends told me that the ‚no food no drinks‘ rule is s.th. what can be tried by highly conscious muslim believers and it is even forbidden in many cases (pregnant women, elderly, children, on trips, sick people, etc) and it is definitely not a rule for all. after all, she has studied quran and would be prolly a quran school theacher if she had participated (and passed) the exams, not me … well, who knows whats good and whats wrong? prolly noone completely, so lets accept strange behaviour as part of foreign culture and do not try to convince the folks to change it as the others also do not try to change us :-)
well, what else?
  • volleyball on the beach ~ the only place with concrete below the thinny sand foil in the universe of sand! many (small) injuries happened, i can tell ya ;-(
  • playing cards with my wife + youngest daughter. not too much fun as ive seldom won a game and never won the whole battle, omd!
  • swimming or rather jumping in the waves ~ we stock traders know a lot abt the waves, so i was ahead the crowd once again :-)
  • marrakech ~ unesco's world cultural heritage ~ a disappointment for me, ive prolly expected too much (see the attached picasa pictures below). at least our travel guide youssef was great and told us a lot abt the city & moroccain history.
  • jeep safari ~ a great day trip to the fisherman folks living in caves directly on the beach, berber taxi (donkey ride), sahara, berber limousine (camel ride), city of tiznit with its medivial city walls + stinking 'open air' meat shops in 40+ degrees celsius (btw, it was the same in tunisia and in the caribbean [dominican republic] but never in far east => ???), berber lunch (lunch), a silver manufacture, atlas mountains, massa river, dam (drinking water + agricultural water, no power generation) ~ a real surprise in the middle of all that dry countryside, …
  • the CIA sponsored color revolutions (10m hits by google)? ive no clue abt that issue here in morocco; the morrocans seem to like their king + he also doesnt claim he was elected democratically + on top we were told he tries 2 help the poor, but there is a huuuuuge gap between the rich and poor (and there always has been) so we never know what happens next ... especially because morocco is also without oil an interesting place 2 control for its geographical presence and thus somehow important for the 'new world order' idea (we do not wanna google that term, want we?) ...
  • good holiday wheather in the 2nd week of our stay (hot days + cold nights + cold wind + cold water) ~ hell, why did nobody tell us that there is ALWAYS ugly fog in agadir in augusts? well, i do always tell ya when i know s.th. for sure, like the gold rallies in augusts issue, u see?
  • catastrophic bureaucracy ~ passport controls, entry card, exit card, money change (esp. from dirhams back to €uros / dollars), very slow (and shallow!) airport controls/processing, ...
  • any ideas 4 improvement? yep, it is a interesting country, but it is a little bit pity that they throw their waste on the streets, beaches, fields, wilderness … everywhere ;-( ... my dear maroccans, pls keep your country clean ... and yes, do s.th. against bureaucracy :-)
-->
last but not least: pictures, pictures, pictures ... but watch out, ive posted far too many, so pls open/enlarge only the most promising ones: link 2 my google album ðŸ˜„
GoGold (resources), go!
or what abt: go gold bugs go! also too long? lets abbreviate it a little bit: GoGold go!
folks, the gold price is climbing higher and higher and most of my gold/silver stocks are falling lower and lower => what the hell is going on in the financial markets? pls dont let me get started on the stupidity of homo sapiens financialis and how i hate investors / traders, ok?
well, even on friday, when gold reached its high-high-higher all-time-high $1,626 per ounce, most of my mining stocks were DOWN, DOWN, DOWN :-(. did i ask ya what the hell is going on already? no? consider as asked right now ...
thx goodness, not all gold/silver stocks were down on friday. GoGold resources was +10.4%, hmmmmm ... and it went up like crazy the last few days as well => hmmmmm again .... how much up? well, lets try 2 bother my calculator .... (hours of failed attempts in between ;-) ... +53.3% in only two weeks? OMG! what the hell is going on @ GoGold (GGD.V)? well, lets look at these canadian gold explorers a little bit closer:
  • ive bought few shares in march after ive met few old buddies at their booth @ PDAC in toronto. i liked the story, i liked the prospects, i liked the share stucture (approx 80% of the company is held by mngmt / insiders / institutions), but i didnt like the share price. it was sooooo high compared to the price from last november/december. of course, many mining stocks shot up a lot since that time, but GoGold increased three times i guess. well, im not going to bother my calculator this time and cant ask my youngest daughter either cos shes on vacation right now. the school year in munich (and whole bavaria) was over on friday, u know? so what to do in an investment case like this one? it was quite easy! same procedure as always: ive made a pilot buy (im not that paper trader / watchlist investor kind of guy, u see?), applied for companys newsletter, liked it at facebook, started 2 follow these guys' share price and their news flow ... u know what? GoGold is my best performing stock out of all my PDAC ideas! it is up 30% in less than 4 months, my dear ;-)
  • what abt its peer group? unfortunately, the vast majority of my 21 new investments from march 2011 was kicked down by mr. market in the recent overall market correction (april-july) sooooo deep and most mining companies are still down a lot (many 20%-55%, but u not gonna tell that my wife, promised?). there is only 1 additional 'PDAC' company which is up significantly ~ goldstone resources +20% after it received a take-over offer from premier gold mines few weeks ago.
  • what abt any company related issues? well, there were few nice surface samples collected at their flagship property in durango / mexico and theyve also acquired some additional land there ... some directors named, some options issued ... nothing special imho
  • when will they 'produce' some cash? i have no clue how long it will take them to bring their first mine into production, i should prolly read their next news releases more detailed, shoudnt i?
  • i suppose this CAD 57m company is not much known, ive never heard/read s.th. abt it in €urope and there is also no €uropean listing yet ...
  • what abt the volume in GoGolds recent ride? yep, it is slightly up, but it didnt went parabolic yet .... who the hell is collecting all shares out there?
  • wanna risk 2 take a look at GoGolds chart? quite a run, isnt it?
  • any lessons learned? yep! it is not important when u buy your stocks - the only thing which matters is how high they will go after u have bought them :-) lol
anything else? coming soon or never
wake up, homo sapiens! ~ by chris martenson
wake up, my dear homo sapiens, wake up!
what abt the next chapter? yep, it follows soon ... just let me tell ya if u are not too familiar with all that exponential functions concerning money supply, energy usage, population growth, art extinction, inflation, dwindling savings, corrupt politics and its small dirty buddies in the so called 'central' banks, etc ... so pls stop watching these 'summary' lessons ive posted here and just go through the chapters 1, 2, 3, ..., 17 on youtube.com, will ya? IMHO it is 100% worth the time spent and yes, it is not the kind of stuff u woudda like 2 enjoy in your 10 free minutes between dinner and checking the stock market results for the day ... u have to take the time needed and btw the videos are soooooo well + understandable + in some way optimistic produced, that u will enjoy them all, i think :-)
chapter 19:
chapter 20 (final chapter: what can we do?):
thx chris 4 all that education u provide 4 free in order to save our planet .... thx, thx, thx!
btw, by coincidence i just donated some money 2day 4 greenpeace's new warrior 4 the nature, the new rainbow warrior ship ... wanna read the story (and also help the nature)? here we go: lets save the planet NOW ;-)
nobody wants gold! even not for 50 bucks!
folks, i wouldn't believe that s.th. like that is possible! gold is above $1,100 and still nobody wants/needs/knows it?!? is homo sapiens actually soooo stupid?
Mark Dice tries to sell a one ounce pure cold coin for $50 but nobody has a clue how much gold is worth, and nobody wanted it.
what about the gold ever mined? here we go! watch on twitter or put your eyeglasses on and look here:
source: www.DollarDaze.org
folks, you know i'm not a chartist, but if it is true what i see in the picture, then there will not be much more new gold in the future, so (if the demand continues 2 grow) the price wil continue 2 skyrocket! ... let's hope it will be fun for the prepared folks out there :-)
gold + fun? ok, let's move to these nice cartoons :o).
addendum, december 8, 2009: let's laugh abt the 2nd mark dice video!
all-time-high in my portfolio again :)
yabbadabbadoooo!
my portfolio is back @ its all-time-high level again (btw, my stocks have needed 3 weeks to recover from the collapse in the last october days, their 'underlying' gold/silver recovered much sooner and broke out to new golden all-time-highs :-)
bye-bye, fraudulent fiat money system!
ps: i've bought 4 mining stocks and 1 geothermal company today (my ideas from the 2 days spent @ the munich's precious metals show/conference on friday + saturday). will make a new blog post soon. the highlight? me trying to steal the soooo shiny canadian 100 kg gold coin, but now i have to start to collect documents for my pretty tax advisor first and finish the stupid tax payments for 2008, otherwise i will have to keep posting from jail :-(
and i'm hungy too!
btw, i hate taxes!
addendum, november 19, 2009:
crazy financial markets or just crazy folks on the markets?
heya folks, you know, my portfolio was at all-time-high yesterday. well, that was yesterday :-( ...
today it was a little bit down through the day (approx. -1%), after market closed in germany i just wanted to see the results for the day ...... well, my 5 biggest positions performed like this:
  • scorpio mining -10,31%
  • novagold -10,43%
  • acadian mining -3,45%
  • u.s. gold -7,88%
  • orko silver -4,17%
i just thought: oh my dear, gold has fallen to zero and silver much below that! you know what? after a small intra-day loss both gold + silver have recovered and the current quotes are:
  • gold +0,15%
  • silver +0,03%
hell, how stupid is the homo sapiens financialis really? no, i'm not gonna 2 swear abt that this time ... i will better go take a bath and look later if the gold/silver stocks fell the same rate on the u.s. + canadian markets as well :-). did they?
btw, dear readers of my blog, i'm not going to bore you 6 times in 10 days with a message that my portfolio is a little bit higher again (it is a very natural thing in an uptrend :o), but i really wanted to tell you how unbelievable stupid we 'financial' folks as a group are ...
doubled my initial position in monument mining (MMY) 2day
folks, i've (more than) doubled my initial micro position in monument mining 2day. thx 2 mr. market's crazy shakes last week and thx 2 the panic out there i could buy it even cheaper than the 1st tranche...
i can't imagine why do the ppl sell gold/silver mines 20% below their price 1 week ago 'cos IMHO the gold mines have been as profitable when 1 oz gold sold at $1,060 as they are today at the same gold price, no matter if the price was the last 2 or 3 days a little bit lower, isn't? well, it doesn't matter for me, but would you call the markets rational?
well, the monument mining (MMY) stock is +9.68% today, the crazy german folks sold it through the whole day 5-10% below its canadian price, so i'm not gonna 2 complain about the homo sapiens (read comment #2) today :=)
the dear readers of my blog prolly remember cardero resources. why? it's just the next example for german craziness: cardero is -3.93% in germany and +6.45% in canada 2day. any conclusions? yep, here we go:
REMEMBER: buy unpopular & unsexy stocks in germany and sell them (watch out, that's the clou!) in germany if they become modern and everyone's + her neighbor's darling again :o))
ps: monument mining (MMY) will attend munich's precious metals fair next friday & saturday => let's talk 2 company management abt all coming up projects/developments there ...
pps: where come the fresh investment money from? hmmmmmm, it's a secret in general but in particular i can only tweet you it's my next year's pocket-money my wife gives me once a month and she doesn't perceived i've stolen it from our bank account this year! ... btw, it is ONLY €160 (an unheard of brassiness, you agree?) ... "and do not waste them on your stupid stocks again, you damned money-wasting gorilla moron, you! i hate you!" ... oh, my dear, what did i do in my former life i got such a sorrowful karma this time? LOL
addendum november 4, 2009 => monument monumental!
folks, that investment stuff is sooooo easy!
these kind monument mining guys have waited till i could buy my full line on that stock with my 2nd tranche a day or two ago and today is the stock +36.67% why? who cares? ... just kidding ...
well, they've announced today they've produced their first gold in malaysia, which they said they will start to produce in october in their former investors' message on September 16, 2009 ... prolly have the homo sapiens financialis out there forgot about that and sold that stock soooooo cheap for soooo long, unbelievable ... [btw, i've got that stock @ approx CAD0.3, the current price is CAD0.41 and the all-time-high was CAD1.2 => there is still a lot off upside potential there, isn't it? and on top they do generate cash-flow from their gold production now! i still can't understand why nobody liked that company ...]
ps: next explorer out of my portfolio moved to the (a little bit boring) producer division :-(
pps: freiheit, i hope your investment switched into green ink area today as well + thX 4 your $$ information above again
bitte, bitte, schließt ALLE europäischen börsen !!!
ist das nicht verrückt? den ganzen vormittag dümpeln die börsenkurse sinnlos vor sich hin und her uuuuuuund erst wenn in usa die futures losrennen, entscheidet sich, ob's nun nach oben oder nach unten gehen wird und die vormittagszwischenergebnisseundspinnereienderaltenwelt werden im nu korrigiert ... ;o(( ...
wozu war den das ganze 'vorspiel' gut, geschweige denn nötig? ich persönlich finde es sooooo traurig, daß wir europäer die ganze zeit nur über den großen teich rübergucken u. uns nicht mal trauen eine eigene meinung zu haben, geschweige denn auf einer solchen zu verharren ... sind wir tatsächlich nur eine bedeutungslose provinz der (m.m.n. bereits bankrotten!) u.s. großmacht?
ps: es betrifft ja nicht nur die aktienmärkte, sondern auch rohstoffe, devisen, usw. und sofort ...
pps: vorsicht tirol, wir kommeeeen ... warum? geburtstags- & abstandsgewinnungsfeier :o), so!
in diesem sinne lg aus münchen + gute n8,
j.
09/08/2009:
tirol? es klappert die mühle am rauschenden bach, klipp-klapp, klipp-klapp ...
leute, das volkslied kommt sicherlich aus roßbach in tirol!!! non-stop rauschte der bach vor den fenstern unserer netten pension! wir dachten, das gewitter wird gaaaaar nicht aufhören .... und daß unsere bleibe 'wiesenruh' hieß, wird wohl ein paradox des schicksals gewesen sein :-)
ansonsten fernpaß, fernsteiner see, regen wie aus der gießkanne - zum glück erst wo unser seerundgang inkl. abkürzung, die sich im nachhinein als eine insel-umkreisung entpuppte:) so gut wie beendet war, gutes essen, nette leute, paar campari-orange im einzigen (geöffneten) lokal in unserem kaff ...
so, so ... bis zum näXten mal :-)
my column in BElog @be24.at launched 2day ;o)
folks, do not hesitate to visit me @ that funny austrian finance site be24: my blog posts. what was the first posting about? of course, it was about our dear homo habilis aka homo sapiens financialis.
(source: www.eromism.com/img/homo_habilis_sapiens.jpg)
homo sapiens financialis :-)
leute, leute, leute ... wie verrückt sind wir börsianer tatsächlich? und wie verrückt sind goldexploreraktien? warum? noch vor paar tagen wollte KEINER was von vg gold wissen (den gold bugs sicherlich noch unter dem namen vedron gold bekannt) und plötzlich kommt eine kauforgie zustande, als ob's morgen keine aktien mehr geben sollte :-).
da vermeldet einfach die von der finanzkrise ordentlich durchgeschüttelte vg gold, daß sich nun rob mcewen (~ 'warren buffett' unter den goldinvestoren) über seine lexam explorations beteiligt hat und schon brennt eine sicherung nach der anderen durch ... innerhalb von paar minuten stieg der kurs um +126.92% auf CAD $0.295 ... hmmmmm, sind nun alle verrückt oder nur unser lieber mr. market? haben die glücklichen käufer nicht gelesen, daß rob mcewen gerade mal CAD $0.08 bezahlt hat? und wird der preis bald wieder zurück auf 8 cents fallen? na ja, wir werden es schon sehen :-). die umsätze waren natürlich - der hysterie entsprechend - von mickrigen 47.000 stück pro tag auf 3,6 mio geklettert! am folgetag ist der kurs sogar auf CAD $0.41 gestiegen! für mathematiker unter uns setzt bei rob's renditeberechnung der verstand komplett aus ... griff zum taschenrechner ...tatsächlich ... eine verfünffachung!?!?
ach ja, wie sieht bei sowas der 6-monats-chart aus? etwa soooooo :-)
btw, was macht lexam explorations an so einem tag? klar, +35.71%, vielleicht ist ja plötzlich deren vg gold beteiligung mehr wert als die ganze firma selber ... huhuuuuu, taschenrechner, bist du noch da? und war es bei porsche + VW nicht anfangs auch so ähnlich?
uuuuuund wie war's noch mal 1711 während der south sea company mania?
waaaaas, unser homo sapiens financialis hat nicht einmal in 300 jahren was gelernt? ich glaube, er lernt's nie :-))
leute, was LERNEN WIR daraus?
  • verschwende keine zeit + geld für falsche sachen
  • kaufe nur das richtige
  • das investieren ist sooooo einfach :-))
------
ein kleiner nachtrag + ein weiteres bsp. für das traurige herdenverhalten unseres 'sapiens': nach 2 tagen, wo so gut wie alle gold/silber aktien brutalst gefallen sind, ist heute die umkehrrichtung gefragt und nun steigen sie alle in hohen einstelligen bis kleinen zweistelligen raten, natürlich mit ausnahme von vg gold: im tagesverlauf +28,3% und schlußkurs +20,0%. kein kommentar :-)
... und sorry, daß ich erst nachträglich den 'south sea chart' hochladen konnte, irgendwie hat mein webbrowser noch immer ein problem mit dem zertifikat von be24.at und erlaubt mir nicht den text zu formatieren + links (gscheit) zu setzen, aus MS word passend einzufügen etc. => also die klassischen anlaufschwierigkeiten, stimmt's?
danke fürs vorbeischauen + lg aus münchen :-),
jaro.
übrigens, hier ist der link auf den original be24.at-BElog :-)
quo vadis, homo sapiens financialis?
there were 2 baaaad 'red ink' days in a row 4 commodity bulls, but the market (IMO toooo much USD-strength-oriented) turned in a different direction today and eliminated biggest part of recent losses again .... my portfolio is +1.89%, better than the overall stock market ...
btw, the stock-markets are sooo strange ... going few points higher, than few points down and then higher again ... folks,
isn't it like a man walking with his dog? sometimes is the dog in front, sometimes the man, but they always go in the same direction ... (oh dear! my stupid interned & stock-exchange addicted brain cannot remember who used that phrase 1st... graham, buffett, kostolanyi? who cares? the prices will go their own way anyway, with or without the leash ...)
damned hell, i hope my portfolio will go up a lot in the long run!!!
what about bravo venture? vg gold? well, my recent acquisitions advanced +20% today ... hmmmmm, we know there is still a strange hysteria in vg gold stock, but is s.th. strange coming up at bravo too? let's look at company's news (Bravo Venture Group Inc.: Drilling Underway at Homestake Ridge 2:16 PM ET, July 27, 2009: Bravo plans an aggressive +$5.0 million drilling program consisting of approximately 8,500 metres in up to 40 drill holes. Bravo anticipates an approximate 70-day field season, which should conclude in October. ...). well, that's nothing special, gold explorer have to drill 4 gold ... and the stock didn't do much on July 28, 2009 either ... but who knows?
FORGET about the south sea company! REMEMBER vg gold :-)
what about homo sapiens financialis? after rob mcewen participated in the financing of struggling vg gold, the folks out there act like crazy lemmings! he had paid CAD 0.08 per vg gold's share, today (~4 trading sessions later) paid the folks CAD 0.405 (!!!). that's more than 5 times as much ... wanna see the 6 months chart? here we go: InformedChart ... well, let's watch if the price comes back down soon or if there is actualy a new level established
ps: i'm not sure if the homo sapiens did learn anything over centuries, let's look back to 1711 in tek's blog about the south sea company mania
pps: you still remember my initial blog post on vg gold issue?
ppps: thx goodness i've stuck 2 my investment strategy and didn't catch the fast buck @CAD 0.29 as the stock was @ CAD 0.405 today. btw, who knows how long will the party last?
indicated conclusions: do not waste your time + money on wrong things! buy just the right ones! this investment stuff is soooooo easy
what abt the book value of a company? i've bought 2 more commodity stocks 2day
i couldn't resist the temptation and bought (still cheap enough ) two more commodity stocks before these crazy price jumps today:
  • cbh resources - base metals, gold in australia
  • cardero resources - iron ore, copper, precious metals in peru, usa, argentina
folks, cardero's market capitalization is approx $56m. they've sold one of their iron ore properties in peru to a chinese investor for $100m and will receive the remaining $88m soon. what about working capital, book value, etc? they will not throw all that money out of window or gamble in casinos like dave & shoot recently ( lol), will they?
it sounds like a sound investment 2 me. i think benjamin graham & warren buffett would be very proud of me .
addendum, december 19, 2009: just wanna borrow CAD 87.341 million, who's gonna help me?
folks, stock markets are sooo crazy, you know? there are days i don't believe my eyes! do u know what do i do then?
well, i watch the unexpected stock price quote, look 4 possible company news, read the company message twice, look at the quote again, read the message again, sometime even try to put some funny numbers into my calculator (and always throw the calculator away as it neither gives me a result nor an answer as i'm prolly too stupid to use it anyway), then take a walk, drink next cup of coffee, watch the new quote after returning back ... btw, you can call yourself 'happy' because you don't need 2 hear how ugly do i swear abt the sooo stupid homo sapiens financialis on days like that
i know, dear readers of my blog, you still remeber these strange cardero resources guys with all their strange iron ore, gold, copper projects in peru/usa/argentina, don't you?
well, the current quote was abt +25% today. me, happy, thought: hell, they've found the next eldorado or got a bulk of money from FED for ZERO interest rate or BOTH! forget it, nothing like that happened! what was the market mover 2day then? yep, the chinese partners have paid the remaining USD 88 million (USD is correct!) on their major peruvian iron ore property. hmmm, of course they did, why shouldn't they? well, the stock closed trading @ its day low, which was +14.62%, anyway.
we've spoken abt all these book value / cash reserves / etc. things above. hmmmm, what's your guess concerning the current market capitalization of cardero? ... you are right, it is only CAD 87.341 million. again, CAD is correct! also i don't see the current cad/usd ratio i can tell you the buck is even stronger than the loonie at the moment! (i have both currencies as usd/eur + cad/eur pairs in my watch list, because i do sometimes compare (~not compute! still the same calculator issue) the prices of my u.s. + canadian stocks in germany and america, you know?)
UNBELIEVABLE! the've just got USD 88 million + still have plenty of cash from the 1st rate payment of USD 12m + mineral deposits in peru/usa/argentina + investments in other companies like the 2 which i've posted above + petty cash + whatever else they own/posses !!! do you call markets RATIONAL?
well, lets borrow the antic CAD 87.341 million + buy the whole company + enjoy the UNBELIEVABLE!-assets!!!
hell, hell, hell! this investing stuff is sooooooo easy :-)
thx, mr. market, thx!
ps: does someone have the telephone number of the money-printing-wonder bernanke? of course, just in case there will be not enough money to borrow inside the blogger community :-)
